DIGITAL MARKETING:STRATEGIES OF FLIPKART

Introduction

Digital marketing is the use of the internet, mobile devices, social media, search engines, and other
channels to reach consumers. Some marketing experts consider digital marketing to be an entirely new
endeavor that requires a new way of approaching customers and new ways of understanding how
customers behave compared to traditional marketing.

Flipkart is an e-commerce company founded in 2007 by Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal. It is a
Singaporean company which operates in India, where it is head quartered in Bangalore,
Karnataka. Flipkart has launched its own product range under the name ‘Digi Flip’ with products
including tablets, USBs, and laptop bags. Flipkart allows payment methods such as cash and
delivery, credit or debit card transactions, e-gift voucher and cards swipe on delivery.

Flipkart was accused of killing competition. Major competitors filed complaints against Flipkart
to the commerce ministry, claiming that selling products lesser than cost prices is against the
commerce policy of the country. The Ministry said that they would formulate new trade rules
for electronic retail after this incident. In September 2015, Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal
entered Forbes India Rich List debuting at the 86th position with a net worth of $1.3 billion
each.

 Co-Founder of Flipkart, Sachin Bansal, got Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2012-2013
from Economic Times, leading Indian Economic Daily.
 Flipkart.com was awarded Young Turk of the Year at CNBC TV 18's 'India Business
Leader Awards 2012' (IBLA).
 Flipkart.com- got Nominated for India MART Leaders of Tomorrow Awards 2011

Title of Proposal: A study on “digital marketing: strategies of flipkart”

Need for the Study:

in every era, marketing is rising based on what the customer is using. If you go back in
history,you can see that at times when customers used Radio, it gave birth to radio advertising
and marketing.Next, we got the boom of televisions, it is one of the widely used devices
globally, which allowed companies to reach a mass audience with TV ads. Even today TV
advertising,advertising strategies for campanies. Since the boom of the Internet, more customers
started using the Internet, which gave birth to a new era of marketing originally called Internet
marketing, which is now called Digital Marketing
Statement of the problem:

Objectives of the study:

1) to understand the concept of digital marketing

2) to know the process of providing packing dispatch and delivery through online sales

3) to study the online sales activity of the Flipkart

Sources of data:

Secondary data: Secondary sources of data will be collected from Websites, research paper

Journals, Articles

Plan of analysis:

In this study collected data will be converted into Tables using MS-Excel spread sheet.
