1. Explain the basic concepts relating to labor relations and negotiations.


2. Correctly identify the elements of effective negotiation.
3. State the rights and obligations of the labor and capital in maintaining industrial peace.
4. Use the relevant principles in determining the extent of the rights and obligations, as well as the remedies, of parties to a contract of employment.t
5. Develop the ability to reason out in determining the extent of rights and liabilities of parties to in the work place.
6. Cultivate fairness and integrity in relation to rights and obligations in the business community.
7. Apply the skills and knowledge acquired in solving exercises, problems, and in the analysis of cases.
8. Apply the relevant legal principles in the course of interaction with the community.

Course Description

This course uses cases, lectures and simulations to develop negotiation skills in a variety of management situations, including union-management relations. Issues related to pre-
employment discussions, collective bargaining, arbitration, mediation, agency, renegotiating contracts and multi-party discussions are highlighted in the course discussions.

For Professional Board Examination Subjects: the cut-off score is 70%. The highest possible grade is ninety-nine (99); the lowest passing grade is seventy-five (75); and the lowest failing grade
is sixty-five (65) for the first two grading periods and seventy(70) for the final grading period..
