USE CASES

With AR in almost every arena, it won’t be wrong to say that information has
become more and more omnipresent and the AR technology promises to create
a screen-less future.

Overseeing the stride with which AR technology is entering from gaming to
real estate to healthcare to marketing and hospitality fraternity, the technology
promises a staunch development and improvement with the addition of pristine
features like gesture interfaces, sensory feedbacks and much more to interblend
physical space with digital information.

REAL ESTATE
• One of the best AR applications for real
estate should allow a person (whether a buyer
or an agent) to have a virtual walk through the
house/flat/office and surroundings.

• Additionally, it should enable a user to have a

look at the floor plans in a 3D manner to let
them have a feel of the house they are looking
to buy.

• The user should be able to virtually place &

see furniture, paintings, artifacts on selected
spots to have a better understanding of how the
space would look like after the actual
placements of those objects.

MUSEUM
• In AR Apps, artifacts can come alive (appearing
in a 3D form on the device screen) by just directing
your camera towards them.

• We can create visual tour guides that are
adaptable, updatable and viewable without special
devices (using everyday mobile devices).

• AR apps allow visitors to immerse themselves in
virtual worlds and experiment with recreating the
entire building interiors and exteriors on the app.

SHOPPING
Shoppers would stand in front of a camera and see a
virtual version of themselves on a large screen. They
could then choose different products to try on without
even having to step in the store, let alone search for
their size and go through the fitting room experience.

Cosmetics brand Charlotte Tilbury took AR out of

customers’ hands to the “magic mirror” on the wall.
Customers would visit the store and sit in front of the
mirror. The mirror would then use AR to scan the
image of their faces.

Shoppers would then see their virtual images putting
on multiple products of that brand in under a minute.

FOOD
• AR restaurant menu apps allow customers to point their smartphone devices at any menu item to view additional
interactive content such as the nutritional value and calories of the specific recipes.

• Assume if customers are visiting your restaurant, and holding the menu card and suddenly they come to know that
they can see live demos of the preparation of certain dishes, then it will definitely ignite curiosity in customers’ minds.

• Restaurants can also integrate prices and nutrition information into the menu items using info boxes that are paired
with the 3D model.

DECOR
• Home Decoration AR app gives you
an experience of visual realism when it
comes to decorating your home/office,
interior/exterior space. This app allows
you to place virtual 3D objects in order
for you to decide your space decor.

• The horizontal surface area detection
feature lets you visually place your
furniture as desired and see how the
space will actually look like after placing
the furniture in real.

• Roomle’s AR space planner is a great

example for home planning and decor
with Augmented reality.

EDUCATION
• Students can access models on their own
devices via AR apps. By viewing augmented
models, the students can gain a better
understanding of the concepts they are studying.

• With an AR app, you do not have to invest in

physical materials. Students can access models
from any device at anytime. Whether they are at
home or in the classroom, your students can
study and interact with the course materials on
the apps.

• With a simple scan, students can view

augmented models representing anything from a
part of the human anatomy, a famous
monument to a molecule. Students can access
websites directly from the AR app.

MEDICAL

• Augmented reality can be beneficial for healthcare professionals in two ways – in the aspect of
education and training, and in the aspect of diagnostics and treatment providing access to real-time
patient data.

• Medical students are using anatomically correct AR 3D models for study purposes and AR
simulations for surgical procedure training.

• Doctors are providing better explanations about diagnosis and treatments through enriched AR
content and Pharma companies are providing drug info in a 3D AR setting for a better understanding
of medicament working mechanisms and dosage instructions.

• Static mediums are being innovated and

brought to life through AR enhanced catalogs,
flyers, brochures, billboards, posters,
packaging, t-shirts, print-ads, bus shelters, PRINT MEDIA
storefronts to include videos, 3D animations,
extra info, targeted experiences and user
engagement.

• There are specific areas within newspapers

and magazines that can be targeted for
customers. These content areas can be used
to trigger Augmented Reality feature on
smartphones. Once the end-user opens the
AR app in the camera-mode and projects it
towards the print ad, he/she will be able to
see a layer of digital information merged with
the real-world.

TRAVEL & TOURISM
• Travel guides and maps, both printed
and digital, are being enhanced with
augmented reality content to provide
extra information for tourism.

• With AR, tourists can easily find

valuable information by scanning their
surroundings to get pinpoint props of
restaurant and accommodation tips,
historical facts, interactive maps,
customizable itineraries and more.

• Augmented reality converts your

mobile into your personal virtual guide.
And, this Augmented reality tour guide
provides you useful information in a very
interactive manner.
