    Machine Design-1 (ME-501)

    1. Find out the number of R-5 series from 1 to 10.


    2. Find out the number of R 20/4 (100…………………1000).
    3. A manufacturer is interested in starting a business with five different models of
    tractors ranging from 7.5 kW to 75 kW capacities. Specify power capacity of the
    models.
    4. there is an expansion plan to further increase the number of models from five to nine
    to full fill the requirement of the customers. Specify the power capacity of the
    additional models.

    5. Designate the following materials: Grey cast iron with ultimate tensile strength of 300
    N/mm2
    i. Plain carbon steel with 0.4% carbon and 0.8 % manganese.
    ii. Alloy steel having carbon 0.35% to 0.45%, chromium 0.90 % to 1.20%.
