Glide - AE CS3 Project File

Thank you so much for buying this project!

Everything in it is reasonably straightforward once you know your way

around. So let's go layer by layer so you can understand how easy it is
incorporate your own content and adjust other things.

If you need any assistance, please PM me from VideoHive (as opposed to

leaving a comment which I might not see for a few days or more) and I’ll
do my best to help.

Tip: Before you do anything, save a back-up copy of the project file - just
in case you need it :)

I recommend you start by preparing your own content – for example 10 x

images and/or video clips at full HD size 1920x1080. Of course videos
can be any duration – and/or looped so they play for the entire duration
of the sequence. You can import your logo in any format but I suggest
.eps or .psd with transparent background.

Once all your assets are ready and have been imported, you’re ready to
begin customizing the project.

The media that I used for the preview is not included so you will first
notice that each ‘screen’ is empty / grey. We’ll cover that in a minute.

Let’s start with your logo, which opens and closes the sequence…

A) Content - Logo
1) The freeware font which is used throughout is from here
http://www.fontspace.com/beyond-design/randi. The other font I have
used is good old Arial.

2) There are two steps to customize this to your logo/message. Start by

double-clicking the Content–Logo pre-comp, to open it from the Project
Panel.

3) You will see it currently consist of text layers and a horizontal line. You
can write your own text, change the font, the colour, change the Ramp
and Alpha Bevel effects or delete all the layers and drop in your own logo,
for example, as a .psd with transparent background.
A lighter colour works best against the dark background. I recommend
you stick fairly closely to the overall dimensions I have used.

4) Next, open the Scenes folder and open the Scene-Logo pre-comp.
This is where the reflection is applied – same as for all content – allowing
you to customize just one instance and have the reflection applied
automatically.

5) Notice this pre-comp contains two layers, top layer with your logo the
right way up; bottom layer the reflection, with lowered opacity.

Assuming your logo is a different shape to the preview, you will probably
have to adjust the position of the reflection, making sure to keep a
decent gap to give the illusion the logo is floating above the surface.

6) Return to the Main Comp timeline to check everything looks OK.

B) Star-Reflected
There are two layers contained in this pre-comp – the emerging star that
highlights the logo at the beginning and at the end of the sequence.
Since your logo is probably a different shape to the preview you may have
to adjust the position of the star and its reflection.

1) In the Elements Folder in the Project Panel, double-click to open this

pre-comp.

2) Notice like other elements it contains two layers – top the star; bottom
its reflection.

3) A quick way to get the position right is to temporarily drag in your

Content-Logo pre-comp below the two Animated Star layers and position
both layers so the star appears in the right place on your logo (with its
reflection adjusted accordingly).

Tip: Notice this pre-comp itself contains two instances of the Animated
Star pre-comp. If you want to adjust the star itself, this pre-comp is also
in the Elements folder. You may, for example want to change its colour,
the amount of glow, its size, rotation etc.
C) Content 01 - 10
1) These pre-comps are placeholders for the content you want to display
inside the 10 animated screens. As with your logo you only have to
customise these pre-comps as reflections are automatically updated in
the Scene 01-10 pre-comps (although you can of course open these up
and change such things as the strength and height of the reflection).

2) The easiest way to insert your own media is as follows: In the Project
Panel, double-click to open a Content pre-comp.

3) Notice it currently contains four layers:

Your Description…
Write your own text here, change the font, the colour; add whatever
effects you like. This layer also has a drop shadow applied, which you can
adjust so your text stands out against your media.

Media 01…10
You will probably want to delete or disable this text layer

Video Watermark
This layer currently holds the videohive logo (which is supplied in the
Assets folder with the main file). Either delete the layer and drag down
your own logo or alt-drag to replace it (remembering to ensure the target
layer is highlighted/selected). You can also change the layer’s blending
mode (currently set to ‘Overlay’)

Drag your media here

This layer contains the round-corner mask currently used. So all you
have to do is drag down your media to create a new layer and then simply
copy and paste the mask to your new layer. You can of course use any
shape mask you like, for example if you wanted straight corners.

You can now delete or disable the Drag your media layer.

That’s it. It’s as simple as that…unless you want to change other things 

Open the Elements Folder in the Project Panel…

D) Background-Aura
This pre-comp contains all the background elements. Open it up and
notice two layers:
Aura

This is a Fractal Noise animation. You can adjust all the parameters, for
example to increase contrast or brightness. You can also quickly change
the colour at Hue/Saturation>Colorize Hue.

This layer also has Fast Blur applied and Linear Wipe, which is used to
hide the Fractal Noise from the bottom part of the stage.

Background - Ramp

This layer currently has a linear ramp applied. Deep red at the top; black
at the bottom. To change the colours or type of ramp used, toggle down
the layer to reveal effects>ramp.

E) Sparkles
These are the particles that ‘explode’ in the background three times
during the sequence. To customize the effect, open the Sparkles pre-
comp inside the Elements Folder.

1) Toggle down the layer to reveal the Effects>Particle World and adjust
parameters such as Physics>Velocity and Particle>Color. You can also
adjust the particle type, currently QuadPolygon.

2) Glow is also used on this layer, which you can also adjust to your
liking.

Once you’ve done these few steps, you’re effectively ready to render!

F) Camera Controller and Camera 1

The Camera Controller layer governs the camera moves at the end of the
sequence (Camera 1). Toggle down the Camera Controller layer and you’ll
see all the various keyframes controlling Position and Orientation. Scrub
along the timeline to see what’s happening – or use Top View to see the
path that the camera (and other elements) is following.

Take care when adjusting these settings and keyframe positions and be
aware that any changes here – for example if you are synchronizing the
timing to your own music – will mean you will need to move other 3D
layers so that everything matches up, especially the Scene 10 layer which
joins up with the other scenes, while the camera ‘follows’ it into place.

To understand how the main scene-to-scene animations work, toggle

down layers Scene 01 and Scene 02 in the main timeline. Notice that
Scene 01 glides on while spinning; then it rotates more slowly before
spinning off into the background. Just as it spins away, Scene 02 glides
on – and so on.

You can adjust the timing of each transition to sync with your soundtrack
– or change such things as the speed of the movement, the amount of
rotation, starting points and end points etc.

That’s it! Have fun!

I really hope you enjoy this project and will rate it, if you already
haven't :)

If you need any help, please PM me direct via videohive.net. That way,
rather than adding a comment which I may not see for a while, I’ll be
able to help you specifically and sooner.
