ABSTRACT

This study sought to assess the impact of humanitarian aid in education at Domboramwari high school in

Epworth. Teachers , parents and various humanitarian coordinators were given questionnaires and

interviewed. The study revealed that several humanitarian aid organization were assisting learners at

different levels. The school has benefitted in fees payment, construction of toilets ,construction of

classroom block ,provision of classroom blocks ,water project and the provision of sanitary wear to girls.

The study revealed that if the humanitarian aid organization does not finish a project , the community

fails to complete it making meaningful development a problem. The study also revealed that there is no

connection between the O level results and provision of school fees assistance. The study also revealed

that parents tend to develop a dependency syndrome when they get humanitarian assistance. This

study recommends that there be a consultative forum with the community and teachers of the school

before aid is unveiled to seek areas where aid is really needed for it to make a positive impact.
