Scene 6.1: Romeo and Juliet Benvolio I will. I promise you. Farewell, cousin.

[Romeo exits]
{CURTAINS OPENS }
{CURTAINS CLOSE}
Juliet Come, gentle night. Give me my Romeo, and when he shall die, take him, and cut
him out in little stars.

[Romeo enters] Scene 6.3: Thursday

{CURTAINS CLOSE}
{CURTAINS OPENS }
{CURTAINS OPEN AGAIN}
Juliet What is the rush? I pray you tell my lord, I will not marry yet.
[both lying down]
[Lord Capulet enters]
Juliet Must you be gone? It's nowhere near the dawn. You heard a nightingale not a

[Nurse enters]
Romeo Please, Benvolio, be an angel to my love. Watch her firmly as it would do the
eyes of God. Nurse My lord please stop.
Lady Capulet No! Husband! You are too hot! alone. Send your prying nurse to her own room. Lie down upon your bed and take this
vial. Drink it till the last drop. Soon, soft drowsiness will close your eyes. Your pulse will

Scene 6.5: Fake Death


Juliet How can a father speak so to a child?

[Lady Capulet glares at Juliet and exits]


{CURTAINS OPENS }
Juliet Oh, oh God. Oh, Nurse, how shall this be prevented? I have a living husband here
on earth. Lord Capulet We must a move on! Paris will be here! Get anything that we need! Spare
not the cost!
Nurse Well, here it is. Romeo is exiled never coming back now. I think it is best to
marry you with the count. Nurse My lady and my lord, get some rest!

Juliet Speakest thou from thy heart? Lord Capulet What nonsense! I've been all night and long for lesser cause than this.

Nurse And from my soul. Or the devil take us all. Lady Capulet And I know why. And look to have no repetition now.

Juliet Amen… Lord Capulet A wife still jealous after all these years?

{CURTAINS CLOSE} [Lord Capulet hugs Lady Capulet from the back]

Lord Capulet Why, 'tis compliment enough to give me cheer.

Scene 6.4: Vial [Lady Capulet exits]

{CURTAINS CLOSE}

[Friar and Juliet enters]
[Nurse enters]
Friar Laurence I wish I could be of help.
Nurse Mistress? Juliet? Oh still fast asleep? Come, lady. It's time to wake. Heavens, how
Juliet If you could be of no solution to my plight then this knife shall be my deliverer.
sound you slumber. I must need to wake you. Lady. Lady! [sobs] Oh, no!

Friar Laurence Ah Jesu Maria! Daughter, I do spy a kind of hope but it requires a

Paris. That's what you need. Tomorrow's Thursday. Now tonight, make sure you sleep {CURTAINS CLOSE}
