II. TECHNICAL INFORMATION

A. Rationale
Research, research and research, these are the keys for us to unveil the impenetrable walls
of knowledge. For this reason the Undersecretary of the Department of Education once
said that the new policy will address concerns of teachers with regard to career
development. That the new policy will enable teachers to be promoted to higher positions
based on their attainment of set competencies rather than waiting for a vacancy like in the
present set–up.
Thus, by mere evaluating the core function of a teacher that is affiliated in the department
of education is to provide professional assistance to teachers like coaching and
mentoring, develop and/or implement innovative and functional teaching approaches, and
to conduct an action research for better implementation of productive and efficient way of
teaching.
By analyzing the abovementioned duties and responsibilities of the teacher, it is
appropriate that this institution that envisions high quality of academic community
bounded by spirit of camaraderie and cooperation would transfer the expertise of selected
faculties to sow valuable knowledge for the improvement of the entire academic
community of the entire province.

B. Statement of the Problem

Problems and constraints of the Public and Private School teachers based on planning,
needs and priorities;
1. Difficulty on writing a research output;
2. Choosing the right topic of study/research;
3. Assembling a research team;
4. Difficulty on selecting appropriate research design;
5. Lack of theoretical guidance or knowledge on research methodology;
6. Inadequate knowledge on the suitable statistical tool to be used; and,
7. Lack of interest in doing a reseach.

D. Objectives
General Objective: Discuss the research process and explain the various steps.
The information research process has four major phases, identified as (1) determine the
research problem, (2) select the appropriate research design, (3) execute the research
design, and (4) communicate the results. To achieve the overall objectives of each phase,
researchers must be able to successfully execute 11 interrelated task steps: (1) identify
and clarify information needs, (2) define the research problem and questions, (3) specify
research objectives and confirm the information value, (4) determine the research design
and data sources, (5) develop the sampling design and sample size, (6) examine
measurement issues and scales, (7) design and pretest questionnaires, (8) collect and
prepare data, (9) analyze data, (10) interpret data to create knowledge, and (11) prepare

H. Expected Major Final Outcome (i.e. generated employment, gained knowledge
and skills increased)
1. More fascinated teachers in conducting a research with an impact to the
educational system;
2. Pursuance of an in–depth or deep original action research study about any topic
that interest them;
3. Positive mindset of the participants when it comes to continuous collaborative
Action Research together with theories is effective to change individual teachers’
beliefs and practices; and,
4. At least 3 internationally published Action Research Output from the participants.
