Encore“ 500 and Eclipse“ Electronic Calibration

(Pump Software version 1.5.40 or higher)


Review safety information in MDE 3804 Encore/Eclipse Start ON
OFF
up/Service manual first.
The following steps MUST be performed in the order given or the
calibration will not be properly completed.

1 Turn on the Weights & Measures switch (located on side 1) Prover Can Size
Note! This step has
”no default value,
2 Press F1 you must enter a

3 Press 0 1 2 8 ENTER

4 Press 7 . 8 ENTER

Note! To calibrate, a conversion


factor must be set and is indicated
5 Enter prover can size (e.g. '5' for five gallons) and press ENTER
in the left digit in the PPU display.

6 Enter the Side number (1 or 2) and press


ENTER

7 Remove nozzle and select grade or lift lever Side 1 or 2


NOTE: only pure products can be calibrated

8 Dispense product into prover can as close to the zero as possible


and hang up nozzle
ENTER
The volume display shows the actual pulse count - press

9 Enter the offset (number of cubic inches or centimeters away from Cubic inches of
zero) and press ENTER
deviation from Zero
10 Enter 0 if offset is above zero or 9 if offset is below zero and
press ENTER

The volume display will be flashing the adjusted volume (e.g. 5.008
gallons should equal + 2 cubic Inches on the prover scale) You now
have the option of pressing CLEAR to return to Step 10 to re-enter the
offset data.

12 Press to return to step 5 and if no further calibration is required

NOTE: If is not pressed before the Weights & Measures switch

13 Turn Weights & Measures switch off
14 Press F2 to exit programming

Electronic Calibration must always be manually verified before returning the
dispenser to service

PRIOR to any calibration.

Prior to entering Command Code 90 for side 1 or Command Code


91 for side 2, make sure the Weights and Measures switch is turned
on

The following steps MUST be performed in the order given or the OFF ON
calibration will not be properly completed

Remove the nozzle and raise the lever or select the grade.

Dispense fuel into the prover can as close as possible to the ”zero
mark and hang up the nozzle, - Any re-activation of the handle
switch prior to the completion of the calibration procedure will
result in a lost calibration

Enter the number of cubic inches the fuel is away from zero in the

Press to return to the main display to enter a new prover size,
side, or grade. The volume display will display the adjusted volume
amount (eg 5.008 should equal +2 cu. Inches in the prover).

If you are done calibrating turn OFF the Weights and Measures
switch to exit programming mode. Note: if this switch is turned off
prior to the completion of calibration programming - calibration
will be lost. 0 = at zero or above
9 = below zero

Notes:
Electronic Calibration should always be manually verified before returning the dispenser to service

Calibration on blenders can only be checked by testing a pure High and Low programmed grade, any
testing of blended grades will be inaccurate.
