Work Attitude Rubric
Each day students will get a half sheet of paper containing three questions on it that they
must answer starting at the beginning of the class period and turn in at the end of the class
period. Students are given a work attitude grade based on their respectfulness, responsibility,
engagement, safety, and work ethic. The work attitude grade comes from the essential skills

Points will be deducted when students misbehave or do not adhere to the expectations or
the above rubric. Improper use of technology (including phones), disrespectful behavior such as
language, wearing hats, inappropriate matter, equipment misuse, sleeping during class, or
disrespect towards others and/or the instructor, will result in the deduction of points.
Earning Points Back:
Points may not be earned back for the day the points are lost. However, each day is a
new opportunity and if students are willing to try again, they may earn their points for the next
day by following expectations and acting respectful.
Why a Work Attitude Grade:
The work attitude grade is given to students in order to prepare them for the real world.
College and jobs do not offer second chances very often and it is important to instill a sense of
responsibility and respectfulness in students and begin building these lifelong skills.
