LIST OF DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR WORK PERMIT

Please note that all the documents must be as per the following requirements:

1. Copies of Passport – Information/ Biodata page, ALL stamped pages showing travel
history and any other page showing your personal information - Important: Applicant’s
passport should be valid for at least 2 years from the date of submission of the application.

2. Current and past immigration documents – e.g. study permit, work permit, Temporary
Visa or LMIA.

3. Birth certificates of Principal applicant, your spouse and your children.

4. Family Information, please fill all the sections of the Detailed Information form in
Officio.

5. Marriage certificate – if applicable.

6. Educational/Training Certificates – starting from high school.

7. IELTS results (General Module) – must be taken no more then two years ago.

8. Photograph – refer to the attachment (Photo specifications). You can take these details to
a photographer/studio to use as a guideline. Please note, that for online application, we
need a digital photo in .jpg format. Please explain it to your photographer, hence no
need to write your name, etc. on the backside as it is required for printed photos.

9. Any proof of any assets in any country - proof of deeds etc.

10. Resume (most recent one) with detailed job duties performed.

11. Letters of references from past and present employers. Please make sure that it is on a
company letterhead and shows the company’s full address, telephone and fax numbers,
email address, Website and it is signed.
Important: this letter must include (we can provide a template if you need):

• The start and end dates (day/month/year) of your employment.


• The position(s) you held and the time spent in each position.
• Your main responsibilities in each position.
• Number hours worked per week or month.
• Your total annual salary plus benefits.
• The signature of your immediate supervisor or the personnel officer in your
company.
If you do not have letters according to the above specification, please provide: initial
job contract, pay slips, and/or any other documents that can prove your employment.

12. Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) from country of origin and any other country where
you have lived for over 6 months after 18 years of age. PCC needs to be a national
clearance and cannot be just a local/city police clearance. Click on the following link on

13. Proof of funds – Bank statements are not accepted. You must get an official bank
letter (on the bank letterhead) stating the amount of funds held in your account. The
letter should be addressed to “To whom it may concern” or “The Immigration,
Refugees and Citizenship Canada” and should clearly mention the name, designation
and contact details of the bank official signing it.

**Candidates applying from outside of Canada are required to provide proof of funds (even if
you have a job offer in Canada) as required by IRCC.
***If you are inside Canada and presently working, you are not required to provide proof of
funds. In this case you will have to proof your income from that employment.
Instructions and Further Information

• All documents must be color scanned (unless the original document is in black & white).

• Upload all scanned documents to Officio (documents will not be accepted by email).

• All the documents should be in PDF or JPG format and merged into a single file as
per the document checklist (e.g. all education documents in one single file / entire
passport (first to the last page) in a single file for each applicant separately / all work-
related letters in a single file, etc.).

• All documents should be scanned and named properly (e.g. Passport / Medical Exam,
etc.) as per document checklist.

• Your photograph must meet IRCC requirements/specifications (attached).

• All documents should be in English or must be translated by a certified translator.


Provide a scanned copy of the original and the copy of certified translation.

• If you do not have a document (e.g. birth certificate) you will have to provide us with a
Notarized Affidavit to include in your application indicating the reason why you do not
have one and what sort of document you have been using instead along with a copy of
it.

• Letters of reference (work experience) - please note that standard reference letters may
not be sufficient for immigration purposes and you may need to get new ones. We will
send you a sample letter (if you need to obtain a new one) before the submission of
your application.

• Police clearance certification (PCC) - please be advised that you are requested to apply
for police reports (criminal clearance certificate) from each country for every adult in
your family who has lived in for over 6 months or more (continuous or cumulative).
PCC should be produced for each family member (spouse and children if applicable),
from the age of 18 years to date.

PCC needs to be National in nature and should be with country-wide clearance. Do not
provide us with a police report that has obtained from your area/city police station!
Please note that you do not require providing us with PCC (at this point of time) from
your current country of residence, unless you are leaving same in near future. We will
update you when to submit PCC as we understand the validity of a document like PCC
is time sensitive.

To obtain the PCC from the other country (other than where you are currently living)
please go to the embassy of that country and request one. In the USA - the FBI
clearance is necessary (it should be federal in nature and not just a state or city
clearance)Bank Letter - you must get an official bank letter (on the bank letterhead)
stating the amount of funds held in your account. The letter should be addressed to “To
whom it may concern” or “The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada” and
should clearly mention the name, designation and contact details of the bank official
signing it. Bank letter will be requested at the time of application submission.

• Medical Exam – we will let you now when is the time to undergo Medical examination for
immigration purpose. Please use the link for more information and for finding a Panel
Physician:

This is called an upfront medical exam. Once your medical exam is done, the doctor will
give you a document confirming that you had a medical exam.

o If the doctor works with eMedical they will give you the information sheet printout.
o If the doctor works with a paper system they will give you a copy of the IMM
1017B (Upfront Medical Report form).

When you go to your appointment, you must bring:


o proper identification (you will need at least one document your photograph and
signature, such as a passport, driver’s licence or national identity card)
o eye glasses or contact lenses, if you wear them
o any medical reports or test results that you have regarding to previous or existing
medical conditions, and
o four recent photographs if the panel physician does not use the eMedical electronic
system.
o Conctact the panel physician before your appointment to find out.

Requirements
Provide two photographs of yourself and each accompanying family member with your application.

Your photographs must comply with the specifications below. If the photographs do not meet the specifications,
you will have to provide new photographs before your application can be processed.
Photographs must be printed on quality photographic paper.

Specifications
The photographs must be identical and taken within the last six months. They may be either black and white or colour.

The photographs must be clear, well defined and taken against a plain white or light-coloured background.

If the photographs are digital, they must not be altered in any way.

Your face must be square to the camera with a neutral expression, neither frowning nor smiling, and with your
mouth closed.

You may wear non-tinted prescription glasses as long as your eyes are clearly visible. Make sure that the frame
does not cover any part of your eyes. Sunglasses are not acceptable.

A hairpiece or other cosmetic accessory is acceptable if it does not disguise your normal appearance.

If you must wear a head covering for religious reasons, make sure your full facial features are not obscured.

The frame size must be at least 35 mm X 45 mm (1 3/8" X 1 3/4").

The photographs must show the full front view of the head, with the face in the
