Warm-up and Objective Discussion

After recalling the previous lesson, ask my students questions about it. If they know, praise
them. If they don’t explain and give them answer.
Present to them a topic on the board interrogate them about what, who where, why, where on
the content, purpose and technique.
Show them diagram, cards, pictures, and initiate discussion questions on them. I connect
previous ideas to new information before introducing the lesson of the day.
Example;
Yesterday we talked about comprehensive process. As you know one cannot speak a language
if he does comprehend it. So it is related to some other process. What is a comprehensive
process or approach?
Studnt1-It is a perfect material helping students comprehension and understanding of the target
language using physical total reponse. TPR.
Good.
What materials does it use?
Student2-Quiz, books etc..
Ok .what is total physical response?
Student 3-It is the method which allows learners to connect with physical objects when
learning to speak a language.
Correct!
We also see that communicative approach is also use to connect two or more partners, which
and which?
Student 4-Direct approach.
Right! Direct approach? Why?
You don’t know again?
It is similar to direct approach because it helps to make meaning clear.
What about the communicative process?
Can somebody tell me what it is?
Student5--It is a faster way to study language, exchange language when working or travelling.
Excellent
Now this is a list of letters on the board I ,G,RP, BT,S ,TPR
What strategies do they represent in speaking language English
Student 6--information gap, gamification,role play,back translation,sequence,total physical
response.
That is nice.
Ok this is the topic of today; make sure we are going to also see the cognitive and the audio
lingual process. As they contribute to enhance the speaking activity.

Instruct and model R W L S

First use any language style such as metaphor, metonymy irony, metaphor to teach the lesson
of the day.
Give rules and explanations.
Put examples on the board; ask question about to se if my students have understood the
presentation of the content.
So, teach, model and question.
Often use inductive reasoning .that is I first put questions on the board, and then ask students
to come out with rules. And to write explanation about the rules.
Then take their inferences, modify it or add something new.
Example,
Welcome, everyone.
Today we are going to talk about the speaking language or the communicative process.
Do you know someone who has learned a language and is unable to speak it?
I know one. This person memorized grammar and vocabulary that belonged to that language
very well. But once he arrived in the country of that language, he was unable to articulate a
single word.
Do you know what he missed or what lacked him in his communicative process?
Student 1--technique.
Yes technique, but what type of technique? Technique is vague, technique has many elements.
You have to say practice. He lacked practice.
Now look at this text. The Feast of Beats. Animals are enjoying a feast organized by elephant.
Which practice in the communicative process compare to this feast could this our learners
unable to speak could applied to solve his problem?
Student 2 -dialogue
Alright dialogue. What are other techniques that can be used to teach communicative process?
Student 3-dialogue, audio lingual process, cognitive process comprehensive process.etc.
Right! What is a dialogue? Who can explain?
Student 4-exchange of talk between two or more persons.
Right.
Ok, now that we have discussed very well the communicative approach, I would like you to
write a dialogue or essay on the communicative process.
You have to give rules and explain .you have seen the model. You have five minutes.
Guided Practice R W L S
first recall the previous lesson on instruct and model.
Ask them questions on it and explain the answer.
Set them in group and give them essay on a topic to write and the time required to work on a
single body of paragraph.
Show them sample of how to examine sounds, words, tone, etc.
On less guided practice, I observe, ,advice them ,ask question, initiate proposition and let them
complete it.
break down difficult words, sentences into smaller units
Use to select and mix group by low and higher performers, and assign a role to each person.
The difficult goes to the low performer.
Explain how the group should perform by giving to each student his position.
Use total physical response as well as audio, video diagram etch to assist them and guide them.
Example,
Ok class, I just give you strategies to make English language easy to speak
We have seen how the comprehensive, communicative, audio lingual and cognitive processes
are related. What is the audio lingual approach?
Student1-it the method use by the military to communicate with the aliens or the enemies.
Correct.
Now I would like you to work in group of three, write a dialogue on people traveling to
America. Find your partner to collaborate with, you have five minute to do the work. Let us do
it together, you have seen how the Feast of Bests is constructed. Let one person speak and the
other answers. You have to draw a short line to represent the speaker.
In case there are more people in conversation what do you do?
Ok, yes you have to write their names in front of their speech. Remember to start a sentence
with a capital letter. To help you each student must represent an animal .student1
=elephant,student2= cow etc. you have five minutes
Any question?
Then start.
Ok .now that you have completed; I review and see that you have understood what a dialogue
is. You are great.

Independent Practice R W L S
Give to my students oral questions related to the information previously discussed.
don’t grade this activity
Write questions on the board; give them two to five minutes to write their answer on a sheet of
paper. Or I ask one to come in front and share his answers or presentation to the class or to
explain it among the group.
Then I ask other to give their evaluation about their peer, whether his presentation is correct or
incorrect.
While circulating in the classroom, answering their questions to avoid distraction.
Sometimes I give them homework by stating clearly what I want them to do, clarify the topic,
give them sheet with due date, guideline and expectations, directions on hearing speaking
reading using different methods.
Review the previous lesson for ten minutes before introducing the new one.
Don’t use multiple choice quizzes, fill in blank short answer here, but essay or composition,
writing essay, review conferencing, multiple drafts.
Explain presentation activity using video, audio, diagram, pictures cards and so on.
Example
Now that we have closed with our guided practice I will like each of you to speak five
sentences and record them with his audio recorder.
Here are the pictures of the beasts I would like you to speak about. Use correct English
language. You have five minutes to complete. At the end I will ask you to come in front and
share your presentation to your peers.
I’m around if you have question.

Assessment R W L S
Don’t only control their dress, books, but use summative assessment to evaluate my student’s
performances.
Use rubric for the main categories of grade and subjects.
Often I use peer review, working together with my students to create quiz or assignment for
the class.
Also use shortcut code so that my students might see it and know what they have to do. V for
vocabulary, g for grammar, s for science etc.
Also use questionary that allow all students of the class to speak.
Use the rule of the thumb, as well as feedback to help them remember what they have missed
and what they have to do.
Use technology to create short survey to check their understanding of the lesson we have seen.
Give a word ask them for the roots, meaning or the rule that come from that or vice versa.
The same method I use for a list of elements.
So use memory and knowledge learning to help my students remember, understand
,synthesize or analyze, evaluate and create to achieve their goal.
Example.
Ok class .we has seen how to compare, identify, and produce speaking English language.
My goal to introduce the text the Feast of Beasts is to help you understand how
communicative language runs together with comprehensive, audiolingual and the cognitive
process.
Now I want you to sit I group of three. You have to use ten minutes to talk about the main
characteristics we have learned in the Feast of beasts part1.
Here is on the board the main questions you should answer
-in which environment the scene is taking place and who is the organizer?
Which language process does he use to run the scene?
Does he use reductions, elisson, intonation, tone, or other variable in his speech?
The first part of the story ends at which level?
After answering each student should prepare to come in in front and share his answer with the
class.
Each person has to answer only one question from the four.
Is it ok?
Any question?
Then begin.
Al right. Let us examine and see what you have done.
Yes good. That is what I want from you .all of you are great guys.
Now for your homework you will write three paragraphs essay.
The first describing the introduction of an essay.
The seconds the development of the story.
And the last will demonstrate the conclusion of the story.
I will grade your work now using rubric. Make sure to use correct grammar and good
vocabulary .I have already showed you the model of a good essay.
Good luck.
