Pastor’s Remarks

Dear Church Family,

I shared with you, a few weeks ago, that we were about $15,000.00
short, when comparing the cost of roof repairs and aluminum work
with what we had on hand, plus what we would receive from the
insurance company. In case you missed the Sunday that I shared the
good news, we have met and exceeded our goal. A special thanks to
all those who gave so generously to help us achieve that. As I write
this article, roof work has finally begun and we hope to have the
aluminum company start in a few days. With all the rain, everybody is
running behind schedule. You are a generous group, always giving
when there is a need. I thank God for you!
Fall is in the air (sort of) and things will soon be busier. We will be
planning toward our annual Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat event, coming Christmas in Nicaragua!
up at the end of October. This is always a huge outreach event for us
and I hope you, along with your LIFE Group class will consider
helping out in some way.
Inside this issue:
Then in December we will conduct the “Angel Tree” to provide
Christmas gifts for some needy children locally. Another thing we
would like to do is provide some Christmas gift boxes for the children 1
in Nagarote, Nicaragua, which is Karina Harney’s hometown. We Pastor’s Remarks

have given out lists with suggested items for your consideration. Our
goal is to provide 100 boxes (about shoebox size). We have set a Maguire State Mission 2
cutoff date of October 1, so that we might get them shipped by
October 15. We will get them delivered to Karina’s father, who will
then oversee distribution in their community. Please help in this

worthwhile effort. September Birthdays

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to minister to you and with
you. FBC Ministry 4

Acts 16:9 – And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia
was standing there, urging him and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help
us.”
The 2018 State Mission Offering will be dedicated to funding new initiatives in South Florida
through a partnership between the Florida Baptist Convention and North American Mission
Board. In the second year of our initiative, this relaunched partnership calls for a greater
Kingdom vision with more engagement, more commitment and more involvement to reach three
South Florida counties —Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach—where more than one-third of
the state’s population resides.

Together, let’s help our South Florida’s Church Planters! Why? Because 75% of Florida’s 21
million population—15 million—do not have a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.

95% of South Florida’s population is unchurched.

State Goal: $830,000

• 100 percent of the State Mission Offering will be earmarked for church planting, church
revitalization and church restarting in South Florida. No funds are allocated for promotion.
