Discover the Love of Christ

Frostproof, Florida November 2017

Pastors Remarks
As I write this article, it is a beautiful (and cooler I might add) morning. I am amazed that
the holidays are right around the corner! Where has the year gone?

Dont rush by Thanksgiving on your way to Christmas. We have so much to be thankful for.
So be thankful on Thanksgiving Day, but why not find something specific everyday that you
can express thanks to God for? Lets intentionally count our blessings, express thanks, and
cultivate the act of giving thanks in all things.

I want to encourage everyone to be involved in a small group, which we call LIFE Groups.
Here are some reasons why small groups are important to a believers spiritual growth:

1. It helps you learn to get along with family members. We need to remember that we are
all imperfect believers, and we need to experience the connection God intends for us to
have with others. God expects you to love others in the same way that Jesus loves you.

2. It moves us toward maturity by engaging one another. We are commanded to love

each other, pray for each other, accept each other, forgive each other, and many other one
anothers. You cannot grow to maturity just by attending worship services and being a
passive spectator. In order to grow you need other believers. Give thanks to the L;<=, for he is
good; his love endures forever.
3. A small group helps confirm your identity as a genuine believer. You are not the body of Psalm 106:1 NIV
Christ by yourself. You need others to express that. Together we are the body.

4. A small group helps us as we take the love of Jesus into the world. We are not to just Inside this issue:
love one another, we are to take Christs love to a lost world. Jesus had a small group as He
walked this earth. Together is easier. 1

5. A small group helps us to stay on track. None of us are immune to temptation. We have
the responsibility to keep each other on track. We are to be involved in each others lives. International Day of Prayer 2

6. A small group is a place for you to discover, develop and use your gifts and talents. Your
family needs you. God has gifted you ,and you have a ministry assignment that God wants November Calendar 3
you to do. November Birthdays

Bible study is important, but there is so much more. I hope you will get connected.

International Day of Prayer

for the Persecuted Church
(IDOP) - Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017

The Voice of the Martyrs is a nonprofit, interdenominational Christian missions organization

dedicated to serving our persecuted family worldwide through practical and spiritual assistance
and leading other members of the body of Christ into fellowship with them. VOM was founded in
1967 by Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, who was imprisoned for 14 years in Communist Romania
for his faith in Christ; his wife, Sabina, was imprisoned for three years. In 1965 they were
ransomed out of Romania, and soon thereafter they established the global network of missions
of which VOM is a part. The Wurmbrands based these missions on Hebrews 13:3, which
instructs us to Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer
adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

The Voice of the Martyrs continues this mission around the world today through the following
purposes:

1. To encourage and empower Christians to fulfill the Great Commission in areas of the world
where they are persecuted for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
2. To provide practical relief and spiritual support to the families of Christian martyrs.
3. To equip persecuted Christians to love and win to Christ those who are opposed to the
gospel in their part of the world.
4. To undertake projects of encouragement, helping believers rebuild their lives and Christian
witness in countries where they have formerly suffered oppression.

To promote the fellowship of all believers by informing the world of the faith and courage of
persecuted Christians, thereby inspiring believers to a deeper level of commitment to Christ and
involvement in His Great Commission.

Join thousands of other churches across the United States and the world in prayer for our
persecuted brothers and sisters.
Solitary Prayer was filmed in Romania in the very prison where Pastor Richard Wurmbrand
spent three years in solitary confinement. His testimony is a tremendous encouragement for
believers to stand strong in the face of challenges.
