The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), in cooperation with the Jagiellonian

University in Krakow and the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, are launching in
the academic year 2018/2019 a new Joint Master’s Degree Program in Intellectual Property
and New Technologies.

The content of this unique joint Program focuses on the most challenging issues
related to intellectual property and new technologies (including: new technologies and patent
law; copyright in the digital era; commercial communication; data protection, privacy and
personal rights on the Internet; Internet service providers’ liability). In addition, many IP
specialist from the European IP centers: Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich,
University of Alicante, Queen Mary School of Law, will give lectures.

The Program offers candidates (also those involved in professional activities) an


attractive and user-friendly structure of three semesters study between 1 October 2018 and 28
February 2020, with first fully distance-learning semester, second-residential semester at the
Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland and the last semester with the option of preparing a
Master thesis and being involved in internship in a home country or in Krakow.

All details regarding admission, as well as admission procedure are available in Jagiellonian
University ERK system under the following link: https://www.erk.uj.edu.pl/studia/4561/3/n.
The ERK system is mandatory to use by candidates. The deadline for admission for
2018/2019 is September 10, 2018.

We would highly encourage prospective students from your country to enroll.

In addition, in the 2018/2019 edition of the Program, four full scholarships (travel, tuition,
registration, accommodation, food allowance, health insurance) are provided to candidates
working for the Government, University or Research and Development Institute. An
application for these scholarships should be made through the WIPO website
(https://welc.wipo.int/acc/index.jsf). The candidate should submit:

1) A detailed updated CV

2) A Motivation letter

3) Degree(s) and transcripts
