Follow Me!

Mark 1:16 - 20

Jesus had such a big job to do. Can

you think of some of the things he
had to do in his job as God’s son and
very good helper?
Do you think that’s a job Jesus could
do all by himself?
One day, Jesus decided he needed
some good friends to help him. As he
was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he
saw two men, Simon and his brother
Andrew throwing a net into the sea to
Jesus told Simon and Andrew, catch fish.
“I will teach you to fish for people!”
Jesus stopped them and said, “If you
follow me, I will teach you how to fish
for people, instead of fish.”
What do you think Jesus meant by that?
What do you think those men, Andrew and Simon, thought when he
said that?
Do you think they followed him?
Guess what! They did.
All of them walked a little farther until Jesus saw two more men,
James and his brother John. James and John were in their boat
mending ripped fishing nets. Jesus called them, “Follow me.”
So Andrew and Simon left their father Zebedee in the boat and
followed Jesus.
What would you do if Jesus called to you and said, “Follow me?”
This week, think about how you can be a good helper for Jesus.
