certain high risk patient. Brand Name: Class: Nursing Consideration: Antibiotic -history of allergies to penicillin, Penicillin cephalosporins, allergens, renal disorder, lactation. -physical assessment of culture infected area, skin color, lesion; bowel sounds; R, adventitious sounds; CBC, LFTs, renal function tests, serum electrolytes, HCT, Urinalysis. -do not give IM injections in the same site; atrophy can occur, monitor injection sites. -Administer oral drug on an empty stomach 1hr before or 2hr after meals with a full glass of water, do not give with fruit juice or soft drinks. -Take this drug around the clock. -Take the full course of therapy; do not stop taking this drug if you feel better. Generic Name: Dosage: Indication: Mefenamic Acid 500mg 1tab Relief of moderate pain when therapy will not exceed 1wk. Brand Name: Class: Nursing Considerations: NSAID -Be aware that patient may be at increase risk for CV events, GI bleeding; monitor accordingly. -Give with milk or food to decrease GI upset. - Take only the prescribe dosage; do not take the drug longer than 1wk.

Paracetamol 125mg Analgesic-antipyretic in patients with aspirin allergy, hemostatic disturbances,etc Brand Name: Class: Nursing Considerations: Antipyretic -allergy to paracetamol, impared hepatic Analgesic (nonopiod) function. -do not exceed the recommended dosage. -give drug with food if GI upset occurs. Generic Name: Dosage: Indication: Salbutamol Relief of bronchospasm in obstructive pulmonary diseases. Also useful for treating bronchospasm in patients with co- existing heart. Brand Name: Class: Nursing Consideration: Ventolin Anticholinergic -Instruct patient to use this medication and allow at least 5 mins. Between each to prevent over stimulation. -instruct patient to limit caffeine products such as chocolates, coffee, tea, and cola, avoid smoking, smoke-filled rooms and persons with respiratory infection.

Ascorbic Acid Increases protection mechanism of the immune system, thus supporting wound healing. Necessary for wound healing and resistance to infection. Brand Name: Class: Nursing Consideration: Vitamins -Take a large doses of vitamin C in divided amounts because the body uses only what is needed at a particular time and excretes the rest in urine.
Note: Vitamin C increases the absorption
of iron when taken at the same time as iron-rich foods.
