China's Top Online Wines
September 2017
Contents
Welcome to our first edition of Chinas Top Online Wines! I am thrilled
with the results of the first blind tasting of 250 of the most popular
wines sold online in China in 2017. All the wines were tasted blind and
grouped by price and style. Overall, the wines showed much better
than I expected and I found many wines that I would happily recom-
mend to family and friends. Thus this project was born, out of a simple
curiosity to find out the true quality of wines sold online in China, the
fastest growing sales platform for wine. Bravo to all the highly rated
wines, the wineries and most importantly, the dedicated people be-
hind the wines!

I. Top Rated Wines
From Champagne to New Zealand Pinot Noir and Sicilian Syrah, there
are some fantastic wines above 91 points available online. These four
wines offer an amazing wine experience and really represent the epit-
ome of their style. Any wine that I rate above 90 points is highly recom-
mended and these wines definitely earned their high marks through
their balance, depth, inimitable style and ability to reflect their unique
terroir.

IV. Diamond Country Award
It is not a surprise that France had the most number of wines (24)
that were highly rated and awarded in our tasting since French wines
made up the largest submitted samples. However, it is Chile that
stands out as a country that offers amazing consistency, quality and
value. This years Diamond Country Award goes to Chile for submit-
ting some outstanding wines at fantastic values. Congratulations to
Wines of Chile!
