Summer/Winter/Semester 2 PRACTISE QUESTIONS QUIZ 2 2017

Quiz2 consists of 5 questions requiring a numerical answer (answer to 2dp, if necessary).

The Quiz tests basic skills in Probability and Random Variables (3), Binomial (1) and Normal (1).
The Quiz will be conducted in the 1st 20 minutes of your tutorial class.
You will log into the Quiz using a link on the MATH1005 website.
You can access any files on the MATH1005 website, but no hard copies.
You can use an approved (non programmable) calculator.
Use R to check your hand calculations, as indicated in the solutions to the practise questions.

1. The sets A and B on the same sample space with P (A) = 0.2, P (B) = 0.3 and P (A B) = 0.4.
What is P (A B)?

2. The sets A and B on the same sample space with P (A) = 0.3, P (B) = 0.4 and P (A B) = 0.5.
What is P (A|B 0 )?

3. The sets A and B on the same sample space with P (A) = 0.5, P (B) = 0.4 and P (A B) = 0.2.
What is P (B|A0 )?
