Dear Parents and Guardians,

New Staff Appointments


I would like to congratulate Ms. Sandra Walshe who was made a permanent staff member here following our recent
interview process. Also, as a result of the interview process Mr. John OBrien will be teaching 3rd & 4th class for the

rest of the year while Ms. Walshe will continue to teach 1st & 2nd class. Mr. OBriens start date is being confirmed.
Ms. Mulcahy is doing an excellent job and will continue to teach the class in the meantime.

Sciath na Scol match v Ringaskiddy

Well done to our football panel for winning both matches against Ringaskiddy National School on Tuesday last in
Shamrocks GAA. The team represented the school with the usual sportsmanship and determination. Next up is
Whitegate, fixture to be confirmed.

Mini 7s
We have ladies football team taking part in the Mini 7s tournament tomorrow at the earlier time of 10.20am in
Nemo Rangers. Bus will leave school at 9.30am the players involved will get a consent form later today bus will be
5 for all attending the match.

Traffic around the school


Please do not park your car in front of the school gates or turn in the staff car park when dropping children in the
morning.

Ms. Catherine Fleming


As you are already aware Ms. Fleming took up her Principal position in St. Aonghsa Primary School in Mallow on the
1st of Sept. She will pop in to bid us farewell on Monday 9th of October at 9am. All parents past and present are
welcome to join us for a small presentation to Ms. Fleming. The Parents Association are organising a gift for Ms.
Fleming, if you would like to make a contribution please drop it into Catherine in the office. Contact the Parents
Association for any further queries.

First Holy Communion


The Do this in Memory meeting was on Tuesday night last. The First Holy Communion for our school will be on
Saturday, 19th of May. Also the Parish Confirmation will be on Tuesday 22nd of May.
European Week of Sport
This week is European Week of Sport. The pupils will be partaking in National Fitness Day tomorrow with a take on
the teacher challenge. We have organised some fun games for tomorrow.

School Photographs
A photographer from Quaids Gallery will visit the school on the 10th of November. We will remind you again about
this closer to the time.

Person of the Week


Andrew Kane from Rang Oriste was nominated person of the week, keep up the great work Andrew. Staff will be
keeping track of kind hardworking students over the coming week.

School Garden
We have harvested some lovely carrots, runner beans and garlic from the school garden. Some of the pupils will be
making soup over the weekend and everybody will get a chance to sample it on Monday.

Sli na Slainte
The Sli na Slainte walk way is going to be launched in Ballyanly on Friday 29th of Sept. at 6.30pm. 10 students have
been chosen to represent the school, all are invited to attend the event.

Headlice
Its that time of the year again where you need to check for headlice, please take all measures to eradicate them.
