Unit PE 1 KNOWLEDGE BASE
PE 1.1 Knowledge of Science and Engineering Fundamentals
1
C.E.1.2.2,
I developed my skills in doing drafting by the use of
C.E.1.2.3,
mechanical softwares like Auto CAD, ProE and Solid works. C.E.1.3.1.1
PE 1.2 a
I implemented my skills in the designing of die for casting
component bracket.
2
Working with other experienced engineers helped me to C.E 1.3.1.1,
C.E.2.3.4,
learn various techniques used to solve the problems. I also
C.E.3.3.4
PE 1.3 a gained more knowledge from my mentor (Senior Manager –
QA) who constantly reviewed my progress in my work
place.
C.E.1.2.2,
The industrial training of my engineering curriculum C.E.1.2.3,
C.E.1.3.1.1.,
required knowledge in the drafting with the help of
C.E.1.3.1,
PE 1.4 a AutoCAD and also the theoretical knowledge of operations C.E.2.2.2,
like casting, molding, tapping, finishing in order to C.E.2.3.2,
C.E.3.2.2,
understand actual practical applications.
C.E.3.3.4
3
The Professional career was challenging and I utilized my C.E.2.2.2,
knowledge in manufacturing process like turning, boring, C.E.2.3.2,
PE 1.4 b tapping, drilling, grinding, honing and also my experience in C.E.3.2.2,
using the metrology instruments. My understanding of C.E.3.3.4
engineering drawing was useful to study the component
drawings in my workplace.
4
Understanding of social, cultural, global, and
PE 2.2 environmental responsibilities and the need to employ
principles of sustainable development
I interacted with the design, planning, production, and C.E.1.3.1,
C.E.2.3,
PE 2.2 a maintenance engineers for implementing my ideas and to
C.E.2.3.4,
reduce defects. C.E.3.3.4
5
C.E.2.3.4
a Quality engineer, I was very much concerned about the
quality of the product produced. Before going to meeting I
PE 2.3 b
used to analyse the problems and find all the causes for the
problem and I discussed about it with my team members and
actions were taken and the defects were reduced. Thus I
made continuous improvement in our line.
6
was oil in the air gauge. I rectified it and the problem was
solved. I made a cleaning schedule for the instrument.
PE 2.6 Understanding of the business environment
PE 2.6 a I made cost reduction by localizing a production process for C.E.2.3.3
making certain operations.
PE 2.6 b I selected Quality equipments considering the cost and the C.E.2.3.3
effectiveness, consistency of the equipment.
UNIT PE 3 PROFESSIONAL ATTRIBUTES
Ability to communicate effectively, with the engineering
PE 3.1
team and with the community at large
Attended daily meetings with the team of engineers and also C.E.2.3.4,
PE 3.1 a the quality department meetings to discuss about the issues. C.E.3.3.4
I made presentations to the management team every month C.E.1.3.2.,
C.E.2.2.2
PE 3.1 b regarding the improvements and the various issues in my
production line.
I also effectively communicated with the machine operators C.E.2.2.2,
PE 3.1 c to make them understand the improvements made in the line C.E.2.3.4,
C.E.3.2.2,
and the importance of following it.
C.E.3.3.4
7
the pumps used by making a non corrosive coating.
I introduced plastic bins instead of steel ones for keeping the
PE 3.3 b components because components were damaged during C.E.2
handling.
Engaged in discussion with the operators, engineers and C.E.1.3,
C.E.2.2.2,
PE 3.3 c management team for improving quality and to reduce
C.E.2.3.4,
defects.
8
contacted my mentor and he used to ask me lot of questions C.E.2.3.4
C.E.3.3.4
PE 3.6 a about basic principles. By this way he made me answer my
own questions. Thus I understood the issues conceptually.
I underwent many training programs related to quality,
PE 3.6 b safety, new technology etc., to broaden my knowledge. C.E.2.2.4
CE 3.2.4
