Greetings !!!
Management is a culture-bound discipline. Despite this, Management education in Bharat is largely based
on foreign knowledge and customs rather than the Bhartiya knowledge system and Bhartiya tradition. As
a result, we are neither able to produce patriotic managers, nor we are able to achieve the desired level of
excellence in Management. The inclusion of the Bhartiya knowledge system in the teaching and learning
of Management in Bharat is logical and appropriate. The foreign style of teaching and learning has
negatively influenced our Management excellence. The current system of imparting Management
education is similar to the futile effort of planting coconut trees in the Himalayas and Pine trees in the
coasts.
In order to produce patriotic and brilliant managers for Bharat, the inclusion of the Bhartiya knowledge
system in the curriculum of Management education is absolutely imperative. Despite the commendable
efforts of some individuals and institutions in this area lot remains to be done.
Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nays, New Delhi, is working to consolidate and facilitate all efforts in this
direction. This mission may be considered accomplished only when the Bhartiya knowledge system is
accepted and established as an inseparable part of Management education in Bharat and there are able
teachers, course material and text books available for the subject.
Under the aegis of Shiksha-Sanstriti Utthan Nyas, New Delhi workshops dedicated to the above
objectives have been organized at:
These workshops were very successful and effective. To strategies and prepare a plan of action for the
inclusion of the Bhartiya knowledge system in Management education, the next workshop is being
organized at the Gurukul-Kangdi Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar on 17th 18th Sept. 2016. All colleagues
are, therefore, requested to actively participate and to make their valuable contribution.
