Blitz ChessAssociationbecauseI live in
Tempe,just southeast of Phoenix.Underthe
directionof Myron Liebermanwe meeton
Thursdaysto play Blitz ladders.
For severalyearswe haveorganized
monthlyBlitz tournaments on Fridaysat the
Phoenix ChessCIub, with ahut ten to
fifteen players.In Decemberthe top 12
players were invited to a championship
tournament: the winner received one
hundredtwentydollars.
The beautyof small roundrobin Blitz
toumamefltsis that they practicallyrun by
themselves.I sat out the November
tournamentso that I could take some
picfures.Thar night therewereen uncanny
amountof blunders,but theywereexcused
because it wasFridaythe l3th. o . o | . All bluders wereexcusedasit wasFridaythe 13fr!l
