Euro 6c Exhaust Gas Technology

Tailor-made Technology Thanks to Modular Construction

As the design of all the exhaust gas components for MAN diesel en
gines is strictly modular, the vehicle manufacturer can choose between
different emission levels without redesigning the vehicle. The obvious
benefits for the customer are a maximum flexibility with a minimum of
development, reconstruction and cost. As a result this will empower
you to react quickly on changing market conditions and international
requirements.

To ensure that the Euro 6c emission limits are reliably met, the MAN
PURE Diesel technology had been combined with MAN AdBlue (SCR)
and MAN CRTec . Both technologies have proven to be reliable and
are already used in the serial products of MAN.

Stage c of the Euro 6 standard imposes stricter requirements for

on-board diagnosis (OBD) and limit value monitoring.

The changeover to Euro 6c has no implications for the normal operation

of the vehicle.

8
CRT + SCR = SCRT
The use of SCR technology not only necessitates perfect control of
the chemical process, but also optimum combination with the CRT
system also required for Euro 6c. The MAN solution is designed so that

the complete exhaust gas aftertreatment process takes place in two

stages in the exhaust gas silencer:

Drop Center Rear Axles

Specially developed for low-entry buses comes the
MAN drop c enter rear axle HONP with a d
ropped axle
beam.
The maintenance-free wheel bearings of the MAN drop
c enter rear axles HONP and HU are proof
that cost-effectiveness does not rule out
convenience. As is the HUB unit for
simple and speedy brake disk re-
placement without disassembling
bearings. Axles fitted with both
disk brakes and drum brakes
feature automatic brake lining or
brake shoe adjustment as well as
electrical wear indication.

Planetary Hub Reduction Front Axles

The perfect answer for more drive. The d riven
planetary hub reduction front axles are a
class of their own: extremely heavy duty,
low weight, high efficiency and large
ground clearance. Also ideal for
all-wheel vehicles.

You have a choice of first-

class alternatives. MAN
planetary hub reduction front
axles come as a single driven
axle and as a drive-through
axle for a tandem front axle, so
that together with MAN planetary
hub reduction rear axles, again with and without drive-
through, an 8x8 all-wheel vehicle can be configured.
Adifferential lock plays its part whenever maximum
traction is needed. Short stopping distance is no problem
for drum or disk brakes with automatic brake shoe adjust-
ment. The brake cylinders are operated pneumatically.

Planetary Hub Reduction Rear Axles

Built for on- and off-road with their ample ground
clearance, high traction p
ower and extremely
heavy duty capability, MAN planetary
hub reduction rear axles are the
all-rounders among the axles. They
are used in commercial vehicles
of every kind.

Planetary hub reduction

rear axles can serve as a
single driven axle and as
a drive-through axle for
axle tandems. Configura-
tions of an 8x8 all wheeler
are possible with driven
MAN planetary hub reduction front
axles (with drive-through and without).

Transfer Cases for Special Vehicles

All-round power for all-wheel vehicles: MAN transfer cases deliver full power to all a xles. With their well-balanced
weight, compact c onstruction and high reliability they demonstrate their superior performance in the most
difficult conditions.
MAN transfer cases come in variations with engageable front-axle drive or for permanent all-wheel drive with
speed compensation between front and rear axle and pneumatic differential lock.

MAN transfer cases are low in weight, and their installation is simplified by an enlarged shaft spacing and smaller
connecting angle in the drive shaft. The optimized gearing and reinforcement of the case reduce the emission of
noise. It is equiped with a filter to ensure long oil change intervals.

Changing of the road/off-road gear and of the differential lock is pneumatically driven, as is engaging and dis
engaging of the front axle.

The gear wheels immerse in oil and lubricate all points in operation. The power takeoff is lubricated by a built-in
oil pump. The inside of the case features multi-lip shaft packing rings that are protected against damage from the
exterior by a narrow air gap and extra metal rings with a labyrinth-like sealing effect.
