Evan Armstrong
Director of Athletics and Wellness

Dear Mr. Armstrong,
Hello my name is Isabelle and through my twelve years at Branksome Hall and participation in the Branksome
Hall summer camps myself, I feel that this position is very fitting for me to strengthen my connection with the
Branksome community. Having been recently informed about the opening of Program Support Staff positions at
the Branksome Hall summer camps for the summer of 2017 through my school Guidance Counselor, I hope to
demonstrate to you my suitability for this job.
My knowledge regarding the competencies required to work at a summer camp such as having a contagious
enthusiastic attitude, experience with children and leading a large group of people has been well exemplified by
my leadership role as grade 8 Grade Rep in which I organized meetings and taught a dance and cheer to my peer
group of approximately 100 people, my acquisition of the St Johns Babysitting License and involvement with
my schools rowing team. Besides enhancing my cooperation and leadership skills, the extensive time that I put
into choreographing, planning meetings and teaching content to my grade engendered a deeper understanding of
the management skills required as a camp counselor. My experience with international exchanges helped me to
gage invaluable insight into true independence, stepping out of my comfort zone and taking risks. My
involvement in Camp Wapomeo for girls and my 42-day canoe trip created a strong sense of resilience and
perseverance, determination and patience which I now apply to all aspects of my life and intend to demonstrate
in this job. My participation in the Branksome Hall summer camp programs as a child and current involvement
in the Branksome Hall education system garnered a powerful connection to the Branksome Hall community
within which the counselors of your program operate in and that I will incorporate into my duties as a camp
counselor.

As an IB student, my strong academic standing is not only indicative of my hard working nature, but also of the
open-minded and principled approach to tasks that I feel will contribute to your program very well. These tenets
have only been in enriched involvement in the volunteer program Best Buddies, my participation in several
international exchange programs, tripping camp and Grade Rep.

As evidenced by my practical skills and experience regarding summer camps and leadership positions, I am
suitable for this job. I look forward to hearing from you so that we can arrange a convenient time to meet and
discuss my qualifications further. I can be reached on my cell phone at 647-501-4660 or by email at
[email protected] and attached is my resume with some further details. Thank you for your
consideration.

Sincerely,

1. who you are,
