MANAGEMENT
In a variety of courses: Principle of Teaching Physical Education, Teaching Elementary
School Physical Education, Fundamental Movements and Skills, and Teaching Secondary
School Physical education, I have learned how to manage a classroom in an effective
manner. I have put these skills into practice by teaching in public schools in El Paso
Independent District.

Experience
TEACHING | MESITA AND AOY ELEMENTARY | MARCH 23TH AND NOVEMBER

o I was allowed by the instructor to explain a few activities for the lesson with full
supervision.
o I received feedback from the physical educators about my delivery on the activities.
o This experience allowed me to see the difference between teaching college colleagues
to real students.
o These lessons served me as a base line to where I was in my teaching career at the
time.

o I created lesson plans for students in the high school level.
o I was able to work individually and also with a partner effectively to teach basketball,
karate, and adventures activities.
o I taught in different formats: Teacher Oriented, Student Oriented, and
Adventure/Question Guided Oriented.

o I create lesson plans for students in kinder garden and first grade.
o I adapted to the units that the physical educators at Polk Elementary had planned.
o The units that I covered were, lets move, which is a unit based on body composition,
and nutrition and the rhythm unit which focus mainly on dance.
o The objective of this teaching assignment was to allow me, the student teacher, get
use to teaching on my own.

VOLUNTEER | DAVEN PORT ELEMENTARY | OCTOBER 13TH OF 2016 TO


CURRENT
o I create lessons to teach basketball to students in 4 th and 5th grade.
o The objective of this volunteer work is to improve the skills of the students to the point
in which they are capable to engage in play effectively and confidently in the future.
o This experience will hopefully improve my teaching styles and management inside the
classroom.

INTERNSHIP | EL PASO HIGH | JANUARY 9TH OF 2017 TO CURRENT


o I create lesson plans along with my colleague Michael Alvarado, for students in the high
school level.
o We provide students with assignments and quizzes to engage them mentally.
o We use the coed teaching style for the lessons that we teach, in order make sure that
the students get more one on one interactions with the instructor to enhance learning.

o The lessons focus on group work to improve the social development of the students
and get them ready for interactions outside of the classroom.
o Our goal for the internship is to make physical education a class were students grow
and improve both mentally and physically.
