Multifaith Scholars2
The Multifaith Scholars program is a two-year, closely mentored, experientially rich, and intellectually rigorous educational
opportunity for juniors and seniors who show great potential as intellectually curious and socially engaged multi-faith lead-
ers. Scholarships fund students committed to their own ongoing development and the enhancement of their local and global
communities. By the end of the program, students will have a uniquely strong foundation to enter multi-faith work of many
kinds, through university campus positions, through positions within the expanding network of interfaith organizations in
urban centers across the U.S., through coordinating outreach for communities of faith and non-profits, in a growing number
of governmental and non-governmental positions across the globe fostering relationships across religions and cultures, etc.
They will be prepared to enter this work not only with clarity and awareness of their own strengths and promise but also with
the skills and creativity that will help them proactively pursue leadership and innovation in multi-faith work gained through
first-hand experiences, mentoring, and advising.
Students will apply to be Scholars in the spring of their second year at Elon, securing a mentor who will work with them one-
on-one to develop their application, which will include identifying and developing a two-year research project. Five students
will be chosen each year and will be granted $5,000 per year for a total of $10,000 for their projects.
