EXT. NEO TOKYO 2030 NARITA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT - EVENING
Jet engines are powering down camera cutting shades of the
engine blades slowing down facing terminal. A Conductor
moves his hands with light cones seen through jet blades as
engines cool down.
Text on Screen black with white text
"You never really know where you are going, until you get
there... The crosswinds of life... adrift you have taken
me..."
EXT. YAMADORI STREET APPROACHING GUEST HOUSE NEO TOKYO EVENING
MARK, a medium build 20-year-old is approaching the guest
house. A man with white gloves pilots the taxi cab. Mark
reaches to put his iPod away and feels something in his
luggage. A small figurine of a wolf carved from wood,
located on the underbelly of the wolf is a kanji symbol the
symbol of evil.
The Taxi Cab finds its way to the building, there is an
individual standing in the middle of the road. CLIFTON also
20 years old medium build. CLIFTON, an idiot who has been
washed by popular culture is seeking a new cornerstone to
his existence. Clifton takes his polaroid camera and
photographs the cab standing in the middle of the road. The
man in white gloves slams on the breaks. we hear the
polaroid make its classic noise.
CLIFTON
Hahaha!
CAB DRIVER
KUSOO!
MARK
JESUS! he is in the middle of the
street stop the car.

the fair is paid and mark exits the cab.

MARK
What the fuck were you thinking you
idiot you could have gotten us
killed the driver was blinded by
the flash from your camera...
CLIFTON
Well if I didn't do it then we
wouldn't have a photo of the joke
we played on you for the books

MARK
What you did at the airport...
leaving me in the bathrooms. I
can't believe you Clif what the
fuck.
CLIFTON
Relax man it was just a joke. Your
here now aren't you?
MR. GOTO exits the Guest house to greet the new students
interrupting the conversation. Mr. Goto age 50, is an avid
whisky drinker and conversationalist whom oversees the day
to day operations of the guesthouse. He knows something that
the housemates do not. The company that he works for has
notified him that upon the purchase of the building that
there were some concerns. Mr. Goto is also aware that this
was previously an asylum, but does not choose to reveal it
to the students for fear that they will pull their money
from the program.
MR. GOTO
E ra shai era shai! Welcome welcome
new students to the guesthouse! My
name is Mr. Goto I will be your
house keep and manager throughout
the duration of your stay. It is
getting late so please follow me
inside.

NICO age 18 is standing outside the building finishing yet

another cigarette. He is a phenomenal chef and it was his
fathers idea to direct his friends to this location for
their foreign language studies. Before he can put his
cigarette out the wind picks up and a drop of rain
extinguishes his cigarette. He takes his luggage and enters
the Guesthouse.
INT. GUESSTHOUSE LOBBY - EVENING
CHRISTIAN
Glad to see you made it here ok
amigo. Look I...
MARK
Just save it I know you just went
along with their joke. Its cool
lets just get our keys I'm
exhausted.
CHRISTIAN
Sounds good, I could use a shower
also 13 hours on the plane. Mark
what is with this glass are you
seeing this his window is like 3
inches thick...
MARK
Lets just get our keys.
MR. GOTO
Ok ok ok. Single file please
everyone!
The students receive their keys and go up to their rooms.
Mark takes the elevator to his floor. The doorway opens to
wide seafoam green hallways that are wide enough to move a
hospital gernie around. The doors have locks on both the
outside of the doors and the inside, his room is small and
chicken wire is woven into the glass as to protect it from
shattering. It is medical glass. He sets his things and
takes his towel and slippers down to the Onsen bathhouse
located on the first floor.

INT. ONSEN JAPANESE BATHROOM MENS SIDE - NIGHT
Mark goes to wash his face. He looks down to lather his
hands with soap. Suddenly, the lights flicker, Japanese
maple trees brush against the glass of the onsen. Mark looks
up and witnesses a wolf with blood running from its eyes,
trott across the washroom.
MARK
What the?
(he thinks to himself)
This can not be real.
He follows the trail of blood leading into a shower inlet. A
dim light is on and the animal is inside snarling and
bashing the walls. He slowly pushes the shower door open to
reveal the monster. It lashes and bites his right hand.
MARK
AHHHH!!!
Mark runs out of the onsen and begins banging on the thick
glass where Mr. Goto resides.
INT. GUEST HOUSE LOBBY - NIGHT
MR.GOTO
What is it boy? You are crazed?
MARK
It... It bit me look, look at my
right hand.
MR.GOTO
The hospital will not open until
4am. I will patch your wound how
did this happen?
MARK
YOU DONT UNDERSTAND SOMETHING BIT
ME IN THE ONSEN, THERE WAS A WOLF
ITS EYES DRAWING BLOOD!!
MR. GOTO
(alarmed)
You will take me now and show me.
The two walk from the lobby to the onsen.

INT. GUEST HOUSE ONSEN - NIGHT
The two enter the mens side of the onsen and nothing is out
of the ordinary.
MR. GOTO
Look boy it is late please do not
play jokes there is no blood here
there is no wolf.
CHRISTIAN enters the onsen
CHRISTIAN
Mark man did you see the locks on
the doors upstairs yours have one
too? On the outside of the door?
What the hell happened to your
hand?
MARK
I saw something walk past me in the
mirror. It bit my hand.
CHRISTIAN
What bit your hand?
MARK
It was a wolf.
CHRISTIAN
Wolf in the bathroom ok got ya
buddy sure you aren't jet lagged
and just fell or something?
MARK
Do these marks look like I fell?
CHRISTIAN
Mr. Goto is there anything that you
want to tell us about this place?
MR. GOTO
We have a great location, it is
only 5 mins from the metro. I must
tend to this boys hand.

Clifton comes downstairs but not to shower. He is holding a
polaroid camera.
INT. GUESTHOUSE LOBBY - NIGHT
CLIFTON
Hey ladies.... What happened to
Marks hand?
The polaroid clicks a shot of marks hand. However, the photo
stays white. It will not develop.
CLIFTON
It does this sometimes its not
digital you know.
CHRISTIAN
Mark is claiming that a wolf bit
him look at these marks.
CLIFTON
No way bro! Spooky where did it
happen?
CHRISTIAN
In the onsen why don't you go take
a look for yourself hero.
Clifton walks with the polaroid in hand and enters the
onsen.
INT. GUESTHOUSE ONSEN - NIGHT
Clifton leaves his slippers at the door and his feet step
onto the cold white square tile. Clifton looks through his
polaroid viewfinder. There is a trail of blood leading to a
shower unit. He follows it.
CLIFTON
Spoooky...
He walks further. the shower is running he opens the privacy
shade revealing a young girl bleeding, a bottle of pills
scatter the shower tile. We hear an evil noise the head
snaps back. The polaroid snaps a photo and clifton screams
AHHHHHHH!

INT. GUESTHOUSE MR.GOTOS QUARTERS - NIGHT
MR. GOTO
There boy. All patched up now go up to bed and try and rest.
MARK
Thank you. It really must just be the jet lag.
Mr. Goto leaves his quarters and enters the onsen to check
once again. The middle shower is running for no reason. He
opens to find a polaroid picture. It is of the shower marked
on the wall is a kanji Darkness. Startled, he quickly stuffs
the photo into his pocket. adjacent there is a polaroid
camera sitting on the sync counter, untouched.
INT. GUESTHOUSE 6TH FLOOR CHRISTIANS ROOM - NIGHT
Jarred Christian returns to his room and locks the door.
There is a knock.
MR. GOTO
Your friend he left his camera in
the bath house. here you are.
CHRISTAIN
Thanks this is actually Cliftons. I
will just get it to him in the
morning.
The door closes and christian hears something. Laughter in
the hallways. A girl whispers "I let it in." He immediately
locks his door and jumps in bed. Grasping the polaroid.
Christian too looks through the viewfinder to see a snake in
his bed the snake strangles him before he can scream. In his
last breath he pushes snaps the polaroid. We here the sound
of the photo developing.
INT. GUEST HOUSE LOBBY - MORNING
Many of the students are gathering for their first day at
the university. Mark heads down still drowsy and does not
see clifton or christian.

The poloroid camera is sitting on a ledge outside the guest

house. Nico walks down for his morning cigarette and comes
across it and the photo clifton took of mark arriving.
NICO
Whats this doing out here?
Mark walks outside the guest house to meet Nico.
NICO
Good morning man how did you rest?
What happened to your hand?
MARK
To be perfectly honest. I have no
idea. Lets just get to class. Those
idiots must be over sleeping...
The two go off to the first day of class and have a nice
day. They return back to the guest house in the evening.
MARK
That was a long day but I enjoyed
it.
NICO
Me too. I haven't seen the guys and
we don't have phones here. I am
going to drop off these groceries
downstairs.
INT. GUESTHOUSE KITCHEN - NIGHT
Nico enters the kitchen most of the students have already
gone to bed. He walks to the freezer. looks through the
viewfinder to see a ghost man with a catheter walking
holding a metal iv.
NICO
Woah...
He looks again this time we hear the man.
GHOST MAN
Yuki yuki sweetheart. I am coming
He looks through the view finder and follows the man through
the kitchen.

Intreagued Nico watches the ghost open the freezer door and
walk in the door seals.
GHOST MAN
"HELP HELP. I AM LOCKED HERE YUKI IT WILL BE ALRIGHT
SWEETHEART. HELP HELP HELP!!!
Startled Nico keeps the polaroid in his left hand as he
slowly opens the door to the freezer room peering through
the viewfinder. He sees Nothing and closes the freezer
NICO
What is inside of these cigarettes?
thats it lucky strikes are going to
the bin I'm done smoking.
He tosses his pack of cigarettes to the trash and picks up
his groceries. With the polaroid still in hand he opens the
freezer again this time setting the groceries down with the
view finder. In the corner of the freezer he sees the man
and his daughter frozen holding each other.
THE GHOST OF YUKI SAN
WHY DIDNT YOU HELP US??? COME

NICO
AHHHHHHHH!!!!!
The Freezer door slams shut locking Nico within its walls.
All that is heard is the click of the polaroid **Click**
Mr.Goto hears the scream from his quarters as he is adjacent
to the kitchen on the first floor.
MR. GOTO

INT. GUESTHOUSE KITCHEN - NIGHT
Mr. Goto comes running into the kitchen to find it
completely empty. Sobbing at the loss of his daughter from
another life he goes to the freezer to reach again for his
whisky and a ball of ice.
MR. GOTO
It is the mind. It is just playing
another trick. Just quiet down now.
When opening the walkin freezer nothing is out of place
accept this time. His whisky is already pourn into a glass,
and the ball of ice is already placed into the cup.
MR. GOTO
This... this... it can not be.
He lowers his head with saliva dripping from his drunken
stupor. To find another polaroid photograph. It is a
photograph of a new kanji written in blood, Hitsugi or
Coffin.
MR. GOTO.
It is the mind Goto. But the
photograph is real.
He reaches into his cargo pocket to collect the first image

new polaroid image of a kanji written in blood Coffin. Mr.
Goto is terrified but he knows he is drunk. He slips the
second photo into his cargo pocket and stumbles back to his

INT. GUESTHOUSE MARKS ROOM - NIGHT
Mark is finishing his dinner when his bedroom light
flickers.
MARK
Our father who art in heaven hallow

Noise is heard from the other side of the door.
GHOST PHYSICIAN
WE HAVE ANOTHER I NEED 20 IU's of
TORIDOL STAT. Stay with me
sweetheart. She is convulsing!
Sarah get me more anesthetic she is

GHOST OF YUKI

The lock from outside the seafoam green door unlocks.
However the door is locked also from the inside. Mark can
see two feet shadowed from underneath the door.
GHOST RN
Hello... Is someone in there?
Please unlock this door at once.
The ghost RN begins pounding on the door. Mark is screaming
psychotically.
GHOST RN
What the hell in gods creation...
Mark hears the snarl of the wolf and peers underneath the
door. The RN SCREAMS as the wolf jumps and begins to attack
the throat of the young patient restrained in the gurney.
His eyes open as wide as bowling balls. He is in utter and
complete terror. The wolve then begins to ravage the RN as
she attempts to run down the long wide green hallway. All
mark sees from underneath the door is a line of blood begin
to drop from what appears to be wheels of a gurney. The
blood continues to pour creating a puddle that begins to
seep under the door of his room. He again screams
psychotically.
INT. GUESHOUSE 6TH FLOOR HALLWAYS - NIGHT
The ghost physician returns to the long wide hallway
GHOST PHYSICIAN
Dear god. What happened here...
SECURITY!!!!

Shaking in utter terror Mark can not close his eyes he

witnesses the ghosts clean up the massacre. But the blood
remain on his side of the door. We hear both the security
and the physician walk away.
GHOST PHYSICIAN
We must find out what happened
here.
Mark opens the door carefully stepping over the pool of
blood in his room. His eyes are as wide as bowling balls as
he attempts to stumble traumatized to the stairwell he does
not trust the elevator he believes it will kill him. He
knows something is wrong here. In the hallway there is a
japanese native Takatoshi age 24 smoking a cigarette one
floor down. Mark in utter terror is stepping step by step
and Taka lays his eyes on him.
INT. GUESTHOUSE STAIRWAY - NIGHT
TAKATOSHI
My god are you alright?
Mark is frozen almost solid.
TAKATOSHI
It will be ok. I will take you to
the house manager. I found a
polaroid camera when I was
wandering through the building near
the kitchen..
Mark's eyes grow even wider he passes out. Taka sets the
polaroid on the staircase and carries Mark downstairs. Taka
begins to bang on the thick glass.
INT. GUESTHOUSE LOBBY - NIGHT
TAKATOSHI
WE HAVE AN EMERGENCY HERE!!!
Mr. Goto is passed out from excessive whisky drinking.

INT. GUESTHOUSE COMMON AREA / KITCHEN - NIGHT
Taka sets mark on a sofa that the students eat at and play
games at after making dinner. The area was previously where
the patients of the asylum would sit and exist, the common
area. Take runs to the kitchen side of the large room to get
water for Mark. The radio turns on in the room.
TAKATOSHI
I am going to pour ice cold water
onto you Mark.
Mark wakes up in the common area eyes wide open gasps a
breath.
MARK
Am I.. Am I dead?
TAKATOSHI
No you fool you passed out walking
down those stairs. You looked like
you had seen a ghost.
MARK
You have no idea it was a has been
a hell of a lot more than that ever
since we arrived. Did you turn that
radio on?
TAKATOSHI

MARK
Come with me I want to show you

TAKATOSHI

The two enter the wide green hallway.
MARK
Mr. Goto assigned me to room 666.
TAKATOSHI
Ok and the camera I am holding?
MARK
Just wait.

places his eye to the view finder. His eyes too swell like
bowling balls. The blood is visible but only through the
viewfinder.

MARK
Look my name is Mark and I have
been here for two days.
TAKATOSHI

with the camera?

two wait for it to develop. Written in the blood is yet

TAKATOSHI

MARK

TAKATOSHI

is dream. It means that a persons

MARK

TAKATOSHI
No but I do believe in evil. And
this kanji is sacred. I do not
understand how this camera can
allow me to see this evil. You must

MARK

TAKATOSHI

MARK
Before I arrived I found this in my
bag. A wooden carving of a wolf
with a kanji inscribed under its
stomach.
TAKATOSHI
I see. You are cursed mark. I do
not know how I may help you but you
must keep that trinket with you at

INT. GUESTHOUSE LOBBY - MORNING
Mark was unable to sleep. Keeping the polaroid image on his
desk he brings it down to the lobby near Mr Gotos quarters.
Knocks hard on the glass
MR. GOTO
(groggy)
Yes Mr. Mark what is it?
MARK
Something happened last night. This
photo do you recognize it?
MR. GOTO
What is this? Kanji written in
blood where did you find this.
He reaches and touches his pocket the other polaroids are
still there in Mr. Gotos cargo pant. Mark notices something
in Mr.Gotos behavior.
MARK
You know. I can tell from your
behavior. There are other
photographs aren't there. Show them
to me.

I can not keep this a secret
anymore mark. I have found these
images all throughout the guest
house.
MARK
what does it mean?
MR. GOTO
I do not know nor do I know who
placed them there.
MARK
Nico didn't come back from the
grocery last night. Do you think he
stayed in a capsule hotel?
MR. GOTO
We do not have a phone for him
however let us check his quarters.
One by one Mr. Goto opens the locked doors and finds each
victim in rigger mortis. They are all dead their faces each
mutilated in a different fashion.
MR. GOTO
My god.
MARK
This place what was it before the
company purchased it.
MR. GOTO
An asylum.
MARK
You were afraid if we found out we
would leave. And now my friends are
dead in just 2 days each taken in a
different way and all we have are
these polaroids. I have something
to show you Mr. Goto
MR. GOTO

MR. GOTO

first photo was taken. Where the
wolf bit you. You must face your
demon here tonight.
MARK

MR. GOTO
You can see the demons without the
camera. They brought you here for a
reason.
MARK
And killed my friends?
MR. GOTO
Tonight we shall see. I will wait
outside the onsen and I have
already notified the building
owner. The demon wishes to meet
with you we may be able to lift the
curse.
