IMPROMPTU SPEECH

1. DUE TO RAPID GROWTH IN POPULATION, SHOULD ABORTION BE

LEGALIZED?
Abortion is the ending of pregnancy by removing a fetus or embryo before it
can survive outside the uterus. An abortion which occurs spontaneously is also known
as a miscarriage. An abortion may be caused purposely and is then called an induced
abortion, or less frequently, "induced miscarriage". The word abortion is often used to
mean only induced abortions. A similar procedure after the fetus could potentially
survive outside the womb is known as a "late termination of pregnancy". Abortion is a
safe and legal way to end a pregnancy. There are two methods of abortion available
to women in the first trimester of pregnancy. A medication abortion (also called
medical abortion or abortion with pills) involves taking medicines to end a pregnancy.
An aspiration abortion (also called surgical or suction abortion) is a procedure
that uses medical instruments in the vagina and uterus to remove the pregnancy.

2. HOW IS UNDEREMPLOYMENT DIFFERENT FROM UNEMPLOYMENT?

WHICH HAS HIGHER RATE IN THE PHILIPPINES?
Underemployment: the condition in which people in a labor force are employed
at less than full-time or regular jobs or at jobs inadequate with respect to
their training or economic needs

Unemployment: Unemployment occurs when a person who is actively

searching for employment is unable to find work.
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)
revealed on Wednesday (September 9) that the country's unemployment rate
slightly dipped in July to 6.5 percent, equivalent to an annualized 0.2 percent
ease from the same month last year. Underemployment, however, rose to
20.8 percent from July 2014's 18.3 percent. The term refers to a situation
where employees are either overqualified for their current jobs, or are
currently in part-time jobs but are looking full-time work. According to
National Economic Development Administration chief Arsenio Balisacan, the
country is at par for the rest of the year in achieving the Philippine
Development Plan target of 6.6 to 6.8 percent for unemployment. A majority
(55.5 percent) of the employed came from the services sector. Those
engaged in wholesale and retail trade or in the repair of motor vehicles and
motorcycles formed the largest share (33 percent) of workers in the services
sector. Employees who worked in agriculture comprised the second largest
group (28.0 percent) of the total employed, followed by those in the industry
sector (16.5 percent).

3. SHOULD DEATH PENALTY BE REVIVED UNDER DUTERTE

ADMINISTRATION?
What I would do is to urge Congress to restore the death penalty by hanging, he
said. Duterte wants capital punishment for criminals involved in illegal drugs, gun-forhire syndicates and those who commit heinous crimes like rapists, robbers or car
thieves who kill their victims.

6. ARE YOU IN FAVOR OF DIVORCE IN THE PHILIPPINES?

Young age. Marriage at a very young age increases the likelihood of divorce,
especially in the early years of marriage. Less education. Researchers have
estimated that individuals who have some college education (vs. not finishing
high school) have a lower chance of divorce. Less income. Closely related to
education is income. Finances can be stressful. Premarital cohabitation.
Couples who live together before marriage appear to have a much higher
chance of divorce if they marry. Premarital childbearing and pregnancy.
Pregnancy and childbearing prior to marriage significantly increase the
likelihood of future divorce. No religious affiliation. Researchers have
estimated that individuals who report belonging to some religious group have
a somewhat lower chance of divorce than those who say they have no
religious affiliation. Parents divorce. Of course, some risk factors for divorce
you cant control. If you experienced the divorce of your parents,
unfortunately that doubles your risk for divorce. Insecurity. Researchers have
found that some personality factors put people at more risk for divorce.

7. EXTINCTION OF ANIMALS: PROBLEM OR PART OF EVOLUTION?

Extinction is most often a natural process and almost all species that have
ever existed are now extinct. Natural extinction occurs due to animals not being able to
survive in a changing environment. These changes may involve weather, new predators, changes
in food sources, and new competition for food sources. Humans have been responsible for
numerous extinctions. Hunting (sometimes for sport and often because the animal
is regarded as a pest). Habitat destruction due to agriculture, urban sprawl,
and logging. The introduction (by humans) of other animals that kill the
threatened animal.

happen travelling to or from school, in the youths neighborhood, or on the Internet.

Serious food crises occur when people cannot get enough nutritious food to
eat. They can be triggered by natural disasters, conflict, political instability,
economic failure or even epidemics such as HIV. Famine occurs when several
