Teenage Pregnancy

The rate of teenage pregnancies is quite alarming in today's generation. Teenage

pregnancy is a condition in which young females between 14 and 17 become pregnant.
According to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), teenage pregnancy is
prevalent. Some Filipino youth who admitted to having premarital sex is already in a
live-in relationship. According to someone I know, they are cohabiting to provide their
child with a complete family, despite their inability to do so. Numerous teenagers who
became pregnant occasionally wish they hadn't. Abortion, which is illegal and against
God's will, is common among pregnant teenage women. They consider abortion
because they are either unprepared to be parents or are afraid their parents will find
out. Most pregnant teenage girls engage in premarital sex without considering the
possible consequences. "Think Before You Act" is an absolute necessity. Teenagers gain
knowledge about sex due to what they learn in the media. Most frequently in
magazines, television shows, the internet, and even feature films. Lack of attention and
a sense of unloved from their parents result from seeking love and support from others,
particularly their opposite sex.

Pregnancy in teenagers has several consequences, including dropping out of

school to avoid embarrassment and criticism from others and delaying their batch by
one year due to the nine-month wait for their baby to emerge from their womb.
Numerous pregnant teenagers’ women died due to a lack of adequate medical care.
Babies are also at a higher risk of being premature, most likely due to the mother's
socioeconomic status. Additionally, it is difficult for a single teenage mother to meet her
baby's needs because she lacks the necessary education to obtain a good job and
salary. Teenage pregnancies are on the rise, and we need to put an end to them before
they get any worse. Always begin with the parents. Parents should educate their
children, but they should also develop a strong relationship with them to influence their
child's sexual preferences. Teenagers should also be aware of the risks associated with
teenage pregnancy and its effect on their lives. This should not be rushed, as it can
wait. In comparison, rushing it will only result in regret.
