Figure P5-8 shows an off-loading mechanism for paper rolls. The V-link is rotated through 90 by an air-driven fourbar
slider crank linkage. Design a pin-jointed fourbar linkage to replace the existing off-loading station and perform
essentially the same function. Choose three positions of the roll including its two end positions and synthesize a
substitute mechanism. Use a link similar to the existing V-link as one of your links. Add a driver dyad to limit its
motion to the range desired.
