2. LANDSCAPE OF SAP
Landscape is an arrangement of the server system or like a layout of the servers or
simply the architecture of the servers.
SAP follows 3-system landscape.
A request will flow from
Development (DEV) -> Quality Assurance (QAS) -> Production (PRD)
Development Server:
It is the server where the consultants work to do customization & write programs
as per the business requirements.
It has three clients: Sand Box Client, Customizing Client and Development Client.
Sand Box Client is the place where all the system design work takes place.
Customizing Client also known as Golden Client. After the design gets ok in sand
box client, we recreate the material and do all the configurations here.
Development Client also known as Testing Client is used for unit testing.

3. ARCHITECTURE OF SAP
The SAP R/3 System has three-tier client/server architecture.
All data is stored in a database, and the data is processed in the application
layer on the application servers.
The SAP GUI frontend (presentation layer) is the interface to the user.
All three layers are connected to each other with networks.

5.1.
Features of SAP PP
Execution:
Execution contains creation of production order, scheduling, work flow
(such release printing), confirmations, goods movements, technical
completion.
Most of the above mentioned sub processes need master data to be
maintained. And when you carry out, they generate transactional data like
planned orders, production orders, accounting documents etc.
5.2.
Components of PP
There are three types of production process in SAP.
1. Enterprise structure
2. Master data

3. Discrete Manufacturing
4. Repetitive Manufacturing
5. Production Process Industries.
5.3.
Enterprise Structure:
Every organization has some framework or some structure is defined
according to which the whole business runs.
Enterprise structure is the structure that represents an enterprise in SAP
ERP system.
Enterprise structure defines various levels in an organization.

Master Data:
Data that is created centrally and it is valid for all applications.
It remains constant over the time but we need to update it on regular basis.
SAP PP Master Data is of following four types:
Material Master
