Many member-countries of the United Nation (UN) have an agreement
called the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Article 24 of the agreement
says:
Children have a right to good quality health care - the best
health care possible - to safe drinking water, nutritious food, a clean
and safe environment, and information to help them stay healthy.
Rich countries should help poorer countries achieve this.
The article tells that children from all over the world
have the right to good quality health care, including
nutrition. This means that you must be able to get the
important nutrients needed by your body. This means also
that you must be able to eat different kinds of food that will
supply your body the needed nutrients.
The Philippines is a member of the United Nation
(UN). Our government makes sure that Filipino children eat the right amount of
nutritious food. It makes sure that there is available food in the market. There are
feeding programs to help the school children get the needed nutrients to grow
healthy.
