Introduction
1.1 Introduction

Greetings and welcome to the first release of the Oldschool RuneScape Handy Factsheet. Keep in mind this is a
work in progress and currently, doesn't look nearly as polished as the first official release will. This started out
because I was bored, nothing more and nothing less. I believe this will eventually become an invaluable tool for
both newbies and veterans alike.

Just a quick mock up to get me started.

Common osrs f.a.q.

2.1 Starting Out
One very common question is I've just started playing, what should I do? or some variation. The most frequent

answer is to try quests and just find something you enjoy doing. Generally the person who asks this question
replies with What are some good quests to start out with? A good guide can be found here, here or here.
Questing is a great way to begin the game as it introduces you to it in addition to unlocking new content and
sometimes resulting in invaluable rewards.

2.2 Money Making

Ah, the old age question, How can I make money?. There are many ways through PVM, skilling, PK'ing and
methods that require none of the above skills. A quick list of common methods can be found below and here is a
link leading further into the document for more detailed methods.

Quick Guides
3.1 Combat
Combat is exactly as the name implies. Engaging in a fight with either monsters (PVM(Player vs. Monster)) or
other players (PVP(Player vs. Player)). There are 3 ways to engage in Oldschool RuneScape, Melee with the use
of swords, maces, spears, axes etc. Ranged with the use of bows, crossbows, javelins etc. Magic with the use of
runes and staves. This results in a combat triangle resembling scissors, paper, rock. Melee beats Ranged, Ranged
beats Magic, Magic beats Melee. Of course, there is much more to it than this which you will come to learn.

3.1.1 Making Money With Combat

It's easy to make money with combat, though as with everything else, better money comes with better levels. If
you are a member you should train combat while also training your Slayer level. Slayer allows you to kill
monsters that otherwise without the required slayer level, you would be unable to kill. In general, most slayer
monsters have decent drops that make it worthwhile to train.

3.1.2 Levelling Combat Quickly

Increasing your combat levels quickly generally involves fighting monsters with low defence levels and higher
HP. There are monsters that can rarely hit you, that may hit really low or are located next to a prayer altar for you
to recharge and use protection prayers. This results in the player not needing to bank frequently, if at all.

3.2 Moneymaking

Here we're going to explore ways in which you can increase your cash stack to purchase better gear or use to train
further. Generally speaking, the best money making methods will require higher levels or be more tedious than the
alternative.

3.2.1 Low Requirement Moneymaking

Killing Hill Giants Hillies drop big bones and limpwurt roots. Located in Edgeville dungeon, you will need a
brass key to enter the shack that leads directly to them. They're level 27, a combat of 50 is recommended while
there is a safespot for rangers and mages. This is very popular among non-members.
Telegrabbing Wines of Zamorak Requiring level 33 Magic, 1 air rune and 1 law rune per cast, an altar of
Zamorak can be found north west of Falador. You will find a wine of zamorak on the table but if you grab it with
your hands, the followers of Zamorak will attack you. Also popular among non-members.
Making Oak Planks Members only, running from the bank in east Varrock to the sawmill and exchanging oak
logs and 250gp per log is a decent money maker that requires absolutely nothing but clicking and a small amount
of start up cash.
Making Cannonballs Members only, requiring 30 smithing and completion of a quest this money maker is very
afk-able. Using the Edgeville furnace, steel bars and an ammo mould one can make cannonballs to sell.
Merchanting No skill requirements but need gp to start, one can start earning with only 1gp and earn millions in
no time. Merchanting is either flipping items, buying low and selling high or investing in items. Where you buy a
lot of an item at a lower price that you think will rise in value over time due to new methods being uncovered or
new updates. Both of these though do require some knowledge of the game and/or economics.

3.2.2 Medium Requirement Moneymaking

Runecrafting Nature Runes One of the biggest and most tedious moneymakers on all of Runescape. Abyssal
runecrafting natures can make very good money per hour but is also as stated, very tedious resulting in many
people shying away from it.
Killing Green Dragons Level 80 combat recommended and an anti-fire shield a must. Located in the wilderness
(Look out for Pkers!), these bad boys drop dragon bones and green dragonhide which are both highly sought after.
With higher combat levels come faster kills which brings more money.
Farming Ranarr Weed Only requiring 32 farming and can be done once every hour and a half or less, planting
these seeds and reaping the weeds can bring in a lot of money. Magic levels for travelling to farm patches will
make this even better.
Collecting Battlestaves From Zaff This requires you to complete the Varrock achievement diary. Every day you
can purchase a set of battlestaves and sell instantly for a profit. The better the level of achievement diary, the more
staves you can buy which of course means more money.

3.2.3 High Requirement Moneymaking

Double Nature Runecrafting Needing a tremendous 91 Runecrafting, this is arguably the best money making
skill in the game.

3.3 Skilling
Relating to anything non-combat, skilling is a rewarding experience for doing little. The big ones are
Woodcutting, Fishing, Cooking, Fletching, Mining and Hunter.

3.3.1 Skilling Quickly

There are many ways to increase your experience per hour. For members, one of the best things you can do is
train your agility level. Training on rooftop courses you can collect marks of grace which can be traded for a
graceful outfit. This outfit makes you weigh less with each piece and once complete, recharges your run energy at
double the regular rate. There are also other outfits that increase the experience you gain in a certain skill, for
example the lumberjack outfit and prospector outfit will increase your experience gained in woodcutting and
mining respectively. There is also tick manipulation used by the most elite of players. It is very difficult to execute
and requires full attention but the experience gained is greatly rewarded. All these things will be highlighted in
their respective guides further in.

3.3.2 Making Money With Skills

In-Depth Guides
4.1 Woodcutting
Woodcutting is used to gather logs from trees with an axe. You do not need to be able to equip the axe to use it,
having it in your inventory with the required level will suffice. As your woodcutting level increases you will be
able to cut higher level trees and use better axes, higher levels and better axes result in obtaining logs quicker.
Below are tables outlining the available axes, available trees and the log and xp rate per hour.
