Pin Pull Paired with Pops and Quick Game:

On day two of install, we will begin installing our Pin Pull run scheme. We pair
this run scheme with pops to different receivers or our quick game. Our base
rules for the Pin Pull/Pop and Quick Game scheme are as follows:
QB - Count the box and check the safeties. See if we have the numbers
advantage to the Pop or Quick Game side. If numbers are advantageous to the
side of the Pop/Quick game, he will ride the run. If pre-snap picture does not
change, he will deliver the ball to the receiver. If we have the numbers advantage
inside the box, he will ride the run and ensure pre-snap picture does not change
before handing the ball off.
RB - Align even with the QB. Skippy step to the play side (2 quick shuffles) and
receive the hand off. If the QB pulls the ball, he will carry out the fake as if he has
the ball. He will follow his puller to the front side for his track.
PST - Man the front side DE. He will split the DEs crotch with his first step. Bring
the second step with him and take the defender where he wants to go. The puller
will read his block for where he should pull through.

Against a front side 3-technique This can also call an X block with the
front side guard. If X is called, he is charged with the down block on the 3
technique. Take a short drop step with his back side foot, as the second step
works up the field. Work the back side hand to the defenders sternum and the
front side hand to his play side shoulder. He must keep his nose on the play side
ear of the defender.
PSG He will do one of the following options against different techniques:

Against a front side 3 technique - Split the DEs crotch with the first step.
He will bring the second step with him and take the defender where he wants to
go. The puller will read his block for where he should pull through.

X block - Skip pull (post foot to play side heel) and either trap the DE or
log him based on his position.

Against a front side 1-technique (shade) - Down block. Take a short drop

step with the back side foot and the second step works up the field. His back side
hand goes to the defenders sternum and his front side hand to his play side
shoulder. He must keep his nose on the play side ear of the defender.
Against an odd front - Pull for the first defender outside of the box. If the

center calls him down (due to Nose slanting to front side), he must block down on
nose and the center will pull.
Center - If uncovered to his back side, he will pull for the first defender front side.
If he is covered to his back side, he will down block at the snap. Take a short
drop step with his back side foot and the second step works up the field.
BSG He will do one of the three following options against different techniques:
Against a back side 1-technique (shade) - Skip pull for the first LB front

side.

Against a back side 3-technique - Flat step with front side foot. Backside
hand should go to the sternum of the defender. Keep the defender on the back
side hip and man block him.

Against an odd front - Skip pull for the 1st defender that shows front side.
BST- Man block the back side DE. Flat step with front side foot. His back side
hand should go to the sternum of the defender. He must keep the defender on his
back side hip and man block him.
WRs - Run combination is signaled to them by the QB. The blocker to run side
will block the most dangerous man.
Once again, we typically see three main fronts against our offense. Those fronts
are a 4-2 box, a 4-1 box and a 3-2 box. I will now take you through how we run
the Pin Pull and Pops/Quick Game against these fronts.
Pin Pull vs. a 4-1 Box - Against a 4-1 box, the conflict LB will be playing outside
of the box and playing our Pop/Quick Game side. Therefore our offensive line will
take care of the 4 down defenders to the Mike LB.
