Rotary Screen Printing
Function/Description
In the field of screen technology, a general distinction between surface printing and rotary
printing can be made. For the continuous processing of coating compounds, only the rotary
screen technology is used.
The coating raw material to be applicated is pumped into a rotating screen. Then it is applicated
onto the substrate by a knife which is placed inside the screen. The coating weight is determined
by the mesh number of the screen (openings/cm²) and by the thickness of the screening plate.
The rotary screen technology is used for the application of foams and special designs.

Flat Screen:
The screen contains the design to be printed. The Screen is placed on the flat bed
on which fabric is already placed.
Roller Squeegee:
It is a metallic roller which is operated through a magnet that is placer under the
flat bed. It rolls on to the screen by magnetic attraction and spread the printing paste through the
length of the fabric.
Rubber Squeegee:
Rubber squeegee can also be used instead of the metallic roller. It is also used to
spread printing paste through the length of the fabric. It is operated by means of the arms to
which it is attached named rubber squeegee control.

Roller Printing:
Roller printing, also called cylinder printing or machine printing, on fabrics is a textile printing process
patented by Thomas Bell of Scotland in 1783 in an attempt to reduce the cost of the earlier copperplate
printing.

Copper Roller:
On copper roller the design is engraved. It provides drive to the press roller.
It contains the print paste which moves to the copper roller from that it is printed
to the fabric.
