esoteric, abstract and specialised subject that
has so much to do with any other subject of
study or with the rest of our lives. Philosophy

Bachelors in Law
Law studies have become increasingly
popular and today the profession offers
tremendous career scope and prospects for
the youth. Keeping in mind the importance
of this for young women, Kinnaird College
felt a compelling need to introduce law at
Bachelors level.
This five- year joint BA-LL.B degree is
designed for students seeking a challenging
and rigorous, interdisciplinary exposure to
law and its related disciplines. While the
focal point is the Pakistani legal system,
the teaching methodology encompasses a
critical and comparative approach to broaden
perspectives and sharpen analytical skills of
the students. The ambit of studies is not any
laws as they exist and operate, but also how
policy impacts laws, and the interplay of law
and policy.
Studying law develops an understanding of
the levels of power in our society in a way
that is even more effective than that of political
science because law is directly concerned
with power and concerns every part of life.
The Department of Law will offer an extensive
curriculum, emphasizing skills in courses
