Note:
For thermal reasons, at least 10 cm behind and 10 cm above the PC must be left
free for ventilation.
All dimensions are the actual dimensions of the devices. When planning, reserves
must be planned for voltage and control line connectors (approx. 10 cm).
For the connection of peripheral devices to the PC, appropriate cabling possibilities
must be planned, taking into account that the maximally permissible standard
lengths are not exceeded.
Dependent on the execution, the dimensions of the devices may vary and may be
changed by the respective manufacturer.

3.3 Barriers
3.3.1 Safety
The barrier is exclusively suitable for traffic with average passenger cars.
The barrier is not suitable for traffic with pedestrians, cyclists and
motorcyclists. Depending on the type of traffic and application, the operation
of barriers may be subject to various rules for the prevention of accidents
and DIN standards. Therefore, the manufacturer strongly advises to apply
suitable instructions, notes, signs and structural measures in order to keep
the danger zone of the barrier free from traffic with pedestrians, cyclists and
motorcyclists.
Barrier as a gate for parking areas. The barrier is intended for the use as "Class II
barrier for the commercial ( five-family house / apartment, hotels, garages, shops)
and general (public entry / exit) access control for vehicles".
Special functions: Barrier reverses when touching an obstacle; Automatic opening
of the barrier in the case of power failure as an option.
Not suitable for applications with increased safety requirements, i.e.
protection against crossing danger (railway), breakthrough barricade (ferry
access road, military safety area), or similar!

This must be taken into consideration when planning the personal protection by
means of residual current operated devices in the mains supply.
Depending on the number of devices, several residual current operated devices must
be used.

Chapter 9: Information concerning Power Supply and Overvoltage Protection
However, short overvoltages due to lightning stroke may cause damage to the
devices and downtime. The legally required and device-specifically standardized
jamming resistance tests have been carried out for all the devices mentioned.
On principle, devices at exposed locations are particularly endangered by lightning
stroke. This includes automatic pay stations as well as entries and exits in open
space. The operator is responsible for the overvoltage protection.
Overvoltage protection measures can also be carried out by Scheidt & Bachmann.
Quotations will be prepared upon special request. The expenditure strongly depends
on the facilities already existing on the site, e.g. power supply and network
components. Network connections by means of optical cables, for example, are less
endangered by lightning stroke that a network on the basis of copper cables.

Chapter 9: Information concerning Power Supply and Overvoltage Protection
The PTL36 is provided with an integrated rectifier so that it can be operated with 8
-12V dc or ac voltage. It must be ensured that screened lines are used for voltage
supply. The screening must be applied one-sided on the power pack or on the
earthing bar connected to the power pack.
