Purpose: To identify bold new concepts with the
potential to contribute to significant improvements in
the efficiency of radio spectrum utilization, protection
of passive sensing services, and in the ability for
traditionally underserved Americans to benefit from
current and future wireless-enabled goods and services
and to fund innovative collaborative research that
transcends the traditional boundaries of existing
programs.
Eligibility: Nonprofit, non-academic organizations:
independent museums, observatories, research labs,
professional societies, and similar organizations in the
U.S. associated with educational or research activities;
universities and colleges, including community
colleges.
Funding: $15 million.

Bridging Cultures Through Film: International
Topics (CFDA No. 45.164)
Purpose: To support films that examine international
themes and subjects in the humanities to spark
Americans engagement with the broader world by
exploring countries and cultures outside of the U.S.

district governments; private, public, and statecontrolled institutions of higher education; Native
American tribal organizations; and nonprofits.
Funding: $650,000.

Purpose: To support projects that address major
challenges in preserving or providing access to
humanities collections and resources including the
need to find better ways to preserve materials of
critical importance to the nations cultural heritage

recordings and digital assets subject to technological
obsolescenceand to develop advanced modes of
organizing, searching, discovering, and using such
materials.

Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects
and Centers Program: Minority-Serving
Institution Field Initiated Program (Development)
(CFDA No. 84.133G-5)
Purpose: To develop methods, procedures, and
rehabilitation technology that maximize the full
inclusion and integration into society, employment,
independent living, family support, and economic and
social self-sufficiency of individuals with disabilities.
Eligibility: Hispanic-serving institutions of higher
education, American Indian tribal colleges or
universities, or institutes of higher education whose
minority student enrollment is at least 50%.
Funding: $200,000.

Hispanic-Serving Institutions Education Grants
(CFDA No. 10.223)
Purpose: To promote and strengthen the ability
of Hispanic-serving institutions to carry out higher
education programs in the food and agricultural
sciences and to attract outstanding students and
produce graduates capable of enhancing the nations
food and agricultural scientific and professional
workforce.
Eligibility: Public or other nonprofit Hispanicserving institutions.

FY16 Farm to School Grant (CFDA No. 10.575)
Purpose: To improve access to local foods in
eligible schools and to support placement of volunteer
service members (e.g., AmeriCorps, VISTA, local
service corps programs, etc.) in schools throughout
the country to build or maintain school gardens,
incorporate nutrition education into the schools
culture, and support school food service personnel in
procuring or promoting local and regional products
for the school meal program.
Eligibility: Schools; state and local agencies; Indian
tribal organizations; agricultural producers or groups
of agricultural producers; and nonprofit entities.
Funding: $6 million.

2015 Local Food Promotion Program Grants
(CFDA No. 10.172)
Purpose: With a 25% match, to support the
development and expansion of local and regional
food business enterprises to increase domestic
consumption of, and access to, locally and regionally
produced agricultural products, and to develop new
market opportunities for farm and ranch operations
serving local markets.
Eligibility: Agricultural Businesses agricultural
cooperatives, producer networks, producer
associations, community-supported agriculture
networks, community-supported agriculture
associations, and other agricultural business entities
(for-profit groups); nonprofit corporations; public
benefit corporations; economic development
corporations; regional farmers market authorities;

National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation
Research Fellowships Program (CFDA No.

Purpose: To build research capacity by providing

support to highly qualified individuals, including


those who are individuals with disabilities; to conduct
research on the rehabilitation of individuals with
disabilities; to conduct research, demonstration
projects, training, and related activities that maximize
the full inclusion and integration into society,
employment, independent living, family support, and
economic and social self-sufficiency of individuals
with disabilities.

2015 Farmers Market Promotion Program Grants

Purpose: To increase domestic consumption of and
access to locally and regionally produced agricultural
products, and to develop new market opportunities
for farm and ranch operations serving local markets
by developing, improving, expanding, and providing
outreach, training, and technical assistance to, or
assisting in the development, improvement, and
expansion of domestic farmers markets, roadside
stands, community-supported agriculture programs,
agri-tourism activities, and other direct producer-toconsumer market opportunities.

Purpose: To provide individuals from disadvantaged
backgrounds an opportunity to develop the skills
needed to successfully compete for, enter, and
graduate from health or allied health professions
schools.

Eligibility: Accredited schools of medicine,


osteopathic medicine, public health, dentistry,
veterinary medicine, optometry, pharmacy, allied
health, chiropractic, and podiatric medicine; public
and nonprofit private schools that offer graduate
programs in behavioral and mental health; programs
for the training of physician assistants; and other
public or private nonprofit health or educational
entities, including community colleges, technical
colleges, and tribal colleges.

Technical Assistance and Dissemination to

Disabilities: Model Demonstration Projects to

Purpose: To promote academic achievement and
to improve results for children with disabilities by
providing technical assistance, supporting model
demonstration projects, disseminating useful
information, and implementing activities that are
supported by scientifically based research.

private, public, and state-controlled institutions
of higher education; public housing authorities/
Indian housing authorities; Native American tribal
organizations; and nonprofits.

Office of Postsecondary Education: Developing
Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) Program

Purpose: To assist HSIs to expand educational
opportunities for, and improve the academic
attainment of, Hispanic students and to expand and
enhance the academic offerings, program quality,
and institutional stability of colleges and universities
that are educating the majority of Hispanic college
students and help large numbers of Hispanic

students and other low-income individuals complete


postsecondary degrees.

Purpose: To provide the opportunity for

old and who are enrolled in work release programs.

Help America Vote Act Voting Access for
Individuals with DisabilitiesGrants for
Protection and Advocacy Systems (CFDA No.
93.618)
Purpose: To assist Protection and Advocacy Systems
in promoting full participation in the electoral process
for individuals with disabilities, including registering
to vote, casting a vote, and accessing polling places;
developing proficiency in the use of voting systems
and technologies as they affect individuals with
disabilities; demonstrating and evaluating the use of
such systems and technologies by individuals with
disabilities (including blindness) in order to assess the
availability and use of such systems and technologies
for such individuals; and providing training and
technical assistance for non-visual access.
Eligibility: Public, private, and state-controlled
institutions of higher education; and faith- and
community-based organizations.
Funding: $347,000.
