This question was asked to have an idea of how often pop music is listened
to. This then would indicate if the people answering the questionnaire
actually know a lot about pop music or if they listen to one pop song in a
week. Most people listened to pop music everyday and even more than once
a day, which was good as then they know whats currently popular and will
help me create an up to date magazine. Only 2 out of 15 said they listened to
it occasionally which was good as it was a low number so therefore the
majority were fans of pop music.

I asked this question to see how many people buy music magazines, pop
magazines specifiaclly. I discovered that the majority (14 out of 15) dont buy
music magaines. This wasn't what I was expecting as these group of people
would be the magazines target audience. This indicates that either no one this
age buys music magazines or that there isn't a music magazine currently out
there that this age group would want to buy. It has an effect on who my target
audience for my magazine should be as at this time no one apart from 1 out
15 buys pop magazines.
over of a magazine?
A solo male artist

I asked this question to see who my target audience would prefer to see on
the front cover of the magazine. This question gives me an idea of who
people want to see on a front cover. A solo male artist was the most popular
choice followed by a solo female artist and female group. I think my target
audience which is female ages 15-20 would want a single male aritst on the
front cover as there would be a physical attraction to that aritst. Also a
female artist as my target audience can relate and look up that artist. From
this I know I will be putting a solo male artist on the front of my magazine.
This question was asked to see if chart music was popular with this age group.
This question was asked to see if chart music was popular with this age group.
No one said that they hated it but there was an equal divide between people
saying they like it and other saying they prefer other types of music. This
shows that chart music can feature in the magazine as half enjoy it and half
don't mind it.
Following the question above, this question was asked to see if my target audience would
want to see a charts list of current pop songs feature in the magazine. The majority of the
people asked said yes and this then tells me that I should add a charts list in the magazine
somewhere to show the readers what currently are the most popluar songs.
p magazine?
I asked this question to help determine the final name of the magazine. All the names
were close together but Upsurge won closley followed by Surge. This tells me what name
my target audience would like to see on the magazine. Upsurge is now at the top of the
list for the magazines name.
I then asked why they believed this name was the best to see peoples views on the name
and to see if they picked the name for the right reasons.
gaine?
I asked this question as I was unsure if the names that I had chosen suited a music
magazine with a pop genre. I thought that if the target audience liked the names for a pop
magazine then I would stick with with the names but if not i would change the name to
something else. The majority of the people thought that the names would suit a pop music
magazine but some said that they didn't the names fitted with the magazines pop genre.
This then told me that I should keep my orginal names as the majority believe that they
suited the magaine.
Upsurge was proven to be the best name for a magazine with a pop genre.
Therefore the magazine will be called 'Upsurge'.
I asked this question to see which font would look best as the masthead of the
magazine. 'Pink Lemonade' was selceted as the most suitable font. I believe that
this font was chosen as its fun and quite femine which would appeal to my target
audience and also reflects the magazines genre. I will be using this font for my
magazines masthead.
I then asked why they believed this font was the best to see peoples views on
the name and to see if they picked the font for the right reasons.
I asked this question to see how old the people were who I was asking were to
see if they were relitivly close to my target audience. They were all within my
magaine's target audience which is good as they will answer the questions from
the point of view of my target audience so I will get helpful feedback for them.

I asked this question as I wanted to see if people in this age group immediatly think of
magazines being for young girls. There is currently a gap in the market for pop magazines
for this age group and this makes people think pop music is just for young girls even though
people of all ages listen to pop music. The results show that the majority do think of pop
magazines being for young girls and this shows that this genre should have a pop magazine
targeted towards a more mature auidence.
I then asked if people would buy this magaine and compared to the earlier question of
'do you buy pop magazines' there was an improvement of numbers of people saying they
would buy this type of magaine. However still a big number of people said they wouldn't
buy the magazine, this may be down to people not wanting to buy music magazines.
However the fact that the amount of people that would have gone up shows that people
would like to see a magazine like mine.

I asked this question to see what colours people would like to see
as the colour scheme on the magazine. The top three colours
were blue, red,and white. These are all quite bold and statement
colours which would grab the readers attention. They all fit the
target auidence as they arent considered to be young girls colours
that other pop magazines use, like bright pink. This then tells me
what colours I should use when creating the magazine.
