After a very long winter, I am fairly certain that we are all looking forward to some summer sunshine
and summer fun this year! On that note, there are lots of fun things to do in and around town this
summer, so make sure you and your family check out these great local events and programs that are
sure to make your summer a memorable one!
2014 Bread & Honey Festival
The Streetsville Founders Bread and Honey Festival has been a long-standing tradition of summer
fun for the whole family since 1973. The 2014 B&H festival will be held on the weekend of June 6-8,
so mark your calendars now! The 42nd annual festival promises to be a truly spectacular celebration
with an amazing line-up of performers and activities! On Friday, June 6, the festivities kick off with a
spectacular line-up of performers on the main stage starting at 6pm, including Shyann, Time Trip, and
Lee Banger. Also, dont forget to swing by the Lions Carnival, from 4pm-11pm, with spectacular
rides, concessions, and games all weekend long.
On Saturday, June 7, join us for the Bread & Honey parade at 10am, going south on Queen St. to Old
Station Rd., and dont forget to check out the amazing live entertainment on the main stage starting at
12pm, including Justus, Fiddlestix, Christian James Band, Half Hour City and more. The Busy Bee
Childrens Island Stage is back again this year on Saturday and Sunday, with great activities for kids,
including face painting, pony rides, train rides, Rona Crafts for Kids, and more. Be sure to stop by the
Rotary Consumer Market on Saturday and Sunday, from 11am-6pm at Streetsville Arena.
On Sunday, June 8, join us for the delicious Rotary Pancake breakfast starting at 9am at Streetsville
Arena and a great line-up of performers starting at 12pm, including the Mississauga Big Band,
Blackboard Blues Band, Streetfire and others. For the fishing enthusiasts out there, head down to the
banks of the Credit River on Sunday (south of the Island Bridge) from 9-11am for my annual Fishing
Derby. The derby is open to children 16 and under. Please bring your own fishing gear, and get ready

2014 Streetsville Canada Day Celebration
This year marks our countrys 147th birthday, and what better way to celebrate this national milestone
than at the 2014 Streetsville Canada Day celebration! The Streetsville Canada Day celebration will
be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014. This is the 22nd annual Canada Day celebration in Streetsville,
and it will feature an amazing fireworks display and fun activities, events, and performances for
everyone! The Streetsville Canada Day celebration is FREE of charge, and celebrations will begin at
6pm in Streetsville Memorial Park. Children can enjoy fun and exciting activities, including balloon
animals, face painting, childrens entertainers, magicians, carnival games, mascots, clowns, kiddie
and adult striker games, craft tables, painting and artwork stations, and more! Check out the
spectacular live musical and dance performances on the main stage and make sure you grab a
delicious bite to eat at the Rotary BBQ. At 7pm join in for the Lions Club Cake cutting and singing of
Happy Birthday! At the end of the night, relax and enjoy the outstanding fireworks display at 10pm.
The success of Streetsvilles Canada Day celebration can be attributed to the great work of our
community volunteers. This event is completely run by community volunteers who organize all of the

Freedom Passes are now available, free of charge, in limited quantities. To apply for your Freedom
Pass, drop by any City community centre to complete an application form with parental/guardian
approval. Valid photo ID with proof of age is also needed. Customer service staff will take a photo and
provide the wallet-sized pass to the child. Only the photographed Freedom Pass holder is eligible to
ride MiWay for free. All other riders must pay regular fares. For more information about the Freedom
