    THE OLD TOWN HALL

    The Old Town Hall was built in 1851 on a site occupied since the end of the 16
    th
    century by a
    Market Hall. Since that time it has been the hub of all the towns social activities through its use for
    services and Sunday Schools, debates, dinners, a Natural History Society, a Mutual Improvement
    Society, and the city Town Hall until 1964. In 1978 it opened as The Old Town Hall arts centre
    funded by Dacorum Borough Council. The ballroom became the main theatre, the old cellars were
    transformed into the atmospheric Cellar Club where we host comedy and jazz events and the
    Council Chamber and robing rooms became the Gallery Bar and popular exhibition space.

    Please note:
    All hires are subject to a returnable damage deposit.
    Coffee and tea can often be arranged for an additional charge.
    The management reserves the right to refuse admission.

    The Gallery Bar

    Perfect for: Business gatherings, private functions, intimate celebrations.
    Facilities: Fully licensed bar, disabled toilet, lighting and sound equipment available.

    The Cellar Club

    Perfect for: Private parties, band rehearsals, club meetings.
    Facilities: Small stage, servery area, fully licensed bar, sprung dance floor, lighting and sound
    equipment, flexible seating.

    The Theatre


    Perfect for: Conferences, AGMs, Rehearsal Space, Drama or Music Performances.
    Facilities: End-on stage, full lighting and sound equipment, fixed raked seating, cinema screen,
    dressing facilities.
    Performance hire includes use of the Theatre, dressing room, backstage facilities and some
    technical equipment (see booking form).
    Hire of the theatre for a performance does not include inclusion in The Old Town Hall brochure or
    marketing support.
    Stage width: 7.25m / Stage depth: 6.5m.
    Box office: We can sell your tickets online and on the door and provide the tickets at a charge of
    50.
