Thou art He Who sends springs into the
valley; they shall give drink to all the
wild animals of the field; the wild
asses shall quench their thirst; the
birds of air shall dwell beside them;
they shall sing from the midst of the
rocks.
Thou art He Who waters the mountains
from His Higher Places; the earth
shall be satisfied with the Fruit of
Thy Works.
Thou art He Who causes grass to grow
for the cattle, and the green plants
for the use of mankind - to bring
forth bread from the earth - and
wine to gladden the heart of man - to
shine his face with oil and with
bread to strengthen mankinds heart.
The trees of the plain shall be laden
with fruit; in the Cedars of Lebanon,
which Thou planted the sparrows
shall make their nests - the nest of
the heron takes the lead among
them.
The high mountains are for the deer;
the cliff is a refuge for the rabbits.
Thou made the moon for seasons: the
sun knows its setting.
Thou established darkness, and it was
night, wherein all the wild animals of
the forest will prowl about; the
young lions roar and snatch their
prey, and seek their food from God.
The sun rises, and they are gathered
together; and they shall sleep in
their dens.
Man shall go out to his work and to his
labour until evening.
Greatly magnified art Thy Works, O
Lord Thou made all things in
Wisdom - the earth was filled with
Thy Creation.
There is the sea which is great and
spacious - crawling things are there
both small and great - there the
ships pass through; there is the
dragon Thou formed to play therein.

when Thou grant it to them, they

Praise the Lord, all you Nations.

When Thou were Transfigured on a
High Mountain, O Saviour, having
with Thee those paramounts of Thy
Disciples, Thou shone forth with
Glory. Thine Intention was to show
that those who attain the Height of
Virtue will also be counted worthy of
Divine Glry. Moses and Elias
conversed with Christ, to show that
He is the Lord of the Living and the
Reposed, and that the One Who
spoke through the Law and the
Prophets of old was God. It was to
Him that the Voice of the Father bore
Witness from the Bright Cloud,
saying: Listen to Him! He is the
One Who despoiled Hades through
the Cross, and Who granted the
Dead Eternal Life.
For the Might of His Mercy rules over
us, and the Truth of the Lord
endures forever.
That Mount, which once was dark and
smoky, is now revered and Holy, for
Thy Feet stood upon it, O Lord. The
Mystery, which was hidden before all
ages, was revealed in latter days by
Thine Awesome Transfiguration, to
Peter, John and James. They could
not bear the Shining Rays of Thy
Face, nor the Radiance of Thy
Garments, so they fell on their faces,
weighed down to the ground. In a
state of ecstasy, they marvelled as
they beheld Moses and Elias
speaking with Thee about what was
going to happen to Thee. Then the
Voice of the Father bore Witness to
Thee, and said: This is My Beloved
Son, in Whom I Am well pleased.
Listern to Him, Who also grants the
world His Great Mercy!
> Glory to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit, now and
forever, and to the Ages of ages.
Amen

in My Sight, and I know Thee by
name.
And Moses said: I pray Thee: show me
Thy Glory.
And He said: I will make all My Glory

before Thee My Name: Lord and I
will be Gracious to whomever I will
be Gracious, and will show Mercy to
whomever I will show Mercy.
And the Lord said: Behold: Thou

And the Lord said: Behold: there is a

upon the rock; and while My Glory
passes by I will put Thee in a cleft
of the rock, and I will cover Thee
with My Hand until I have passed
by; then I will take away My Hand,
and Thou shalt see My Back; but
My Face shall not be seen.
And Moses cut two tablets of stone like
the first; and he rose early in the
morning and went up on Mount
Sinai, as the Lord had Commanded
him, and took in his hand two
Tablets of stone.
And the Lord descended in the Cloud
and stood with him there, and
proclaimed the Name of the Lord.
The Lord passed before him, and
proclaimed: The Lord God -
Merciful and Gracious, slow to
anger, and abounding in Steadfast
Love and Faithfulness!
And Moses hastily bowed his head to
the earth and worshipped.

Elias was fearful, and he arose and ran
for his life. He came to Beersheba of
Judah, and he left his servant there.
And he went a days journey into the
wilderness, and sat beneath a
juniper tree, and prayed that he
might die..
And he lay down and slept under a tree.
And behold: someone touched hm and
said to him: Arise and eat.
And Elias looked, and behold: at his
head was a cake made of wheat and
a jar of water.
And he arose and ate and drank, and
lay down again.
And the Angel of the Lord returned a
second time, touched him and said:
Arise and eat, because the journey is
a great many days for you.
And he arose, ate and drank; and he
went with the strength of the Food
forty days and forty nights, as far as
Mount Horeb.
And there he entered a cave and rested.
And behold, the Word of the Lord went
to him and said: Go out tomorrow
and stand on the Mountain before the
Lord; and behold, the Lord will pass
by, and before the Lord, a great and
powerful wind will be rending the
maountains and shattering the rocks;
but the Lord will not be in the wind.
After the wind, an earthquake, but
the Lord will not be in the
earthquake. After the earthquake
there will be Fire, but the Lord will
not be in the Fire. After the Fire,
there will be a sound of a gentle
Breeze, and the Lord will be there.
