2 SMART ELECTICITY CONTROL APPLICATION INTRODUCTION Have you ever worried about gas or lights has been turned on when you left your house? Due to the fact that we cannot control the electricity outside house, there are danger of fire, wasted energy leads to high cost and wasted electricity. Lets think about the future that we can control all the electricity inside/outside the house with just an application in your phone. Now I will introduce an innovate application which can solve these problems. 3. BUSINESS SECTION 3.1 Vision Our vision is to control electricity easily and inexpensively so that every people can reduce accident that occurs because of uncontrollable electricity and also reduce electricity fee by reminding how much electricity we have used. 3.2 Industry Analysis: Electricity controlling Industry Industry: Electricity controlling Industry. Force: High/Low: Justification: Buyer power: High Buyers have a lot of choices which can control electricity in house/workplaces. For example, people can control electricity with a remocon which can control the electricity within the house (familyhandyman, 2010) Supplier power: Low There are many energy companies such as Mercury, Meridianenergy and powerswitch etc that will be able to support this industry in New Zeland (Switchme,2014). Also the company which

To develop this technolgy, time will be taken a lot and cost will be high. Threat of substitutes: High Customer have several choices. They can control electricity by directly contact through electricity company or controllng electricity personally within the home by turnning the switch on/off. Rivalry among existing competitors: Low In New Zealand, there is no competitor that control electricity but there is a company which called powerswitch that just control your electricity usage (Consumer.Powerswitch,2014). Overall attractiveness of the industry: This industry doesnt seem attractiveness as threat of substitute and buyer power is high. The customers may feel interested of our system due to the purpose of production is ideal and innovative. As people interest in our application, threat of substitution and buyer power will be solved as more people want to use our application. 3.3 Customers and Thei r Needs Our target customer is all the individuals who uses electricity in their own house or workplaces especially households and working people. According to the twenty-seven countries, electricity is used primarily by industry, households which means people used electricity mostly in house and workplaces (Wilson, n.d.). As many people use electricity, there are a lot of accident due to electricity. Among the statistic of accidental fires of electrical origin is totally 20,403 during year 2011 and year

4 2012. Also gadgets on standby is the one of the reason we wasted money on electricity. Thus, people will need something that can easily control electricity within/outside the house and electricity usage (Electrical Safety First,2012). 3.4 The Product and Service Our smartphone application wil be able to control electricity and usage by tap in our screen. Application can be downloadable via app store or android market then connect each house. Based on each houses electric wiring plan, diagram of the house is shown with all the electricity plug and lights in your application. All the customer need to do is just tap to block the electricity out/off. By using this application, customer can control electricity anywhere at any time easily so that this will help to reduce economic problem and risk of accident. In order to customer can use this application for 24/7, professional techinicians will standby always so if there are any problems, technicians will fix the problem as soon as possible. Also customer can review/report or complain for the application via our homepage which is linked to application. 3.5 Suppliers and Partners We needs wiring diagram software of house to control individual switch. Smartdraw company which professionally create wiring diagrams, electrical circuit, schematics, and more is the one of the important supplier for our business as it build it for our business. Also we run homepage which customer can write feedback or complain so that we need people/company which build our website skillfully as same as Smartdraw, website builder such as Crazedomains or Zeald is also the one of the important supplier. For mutual benefits, our partner will be the Meridianenergy which is the most biggest electricity company in NZ. As make partnership with Meridianenergy, if customer join with Meridianenergy, we will offer our application as free and free maintenance so as many people join with Meridianenergy, our companys customer wil increase as well. Android market and app store can be our partner as well. To use our application, customer must download our application only throgh the android market and app store.

3.6 Strategy: Differentiation Our business model needs professional technology and high cost as we make application with special technology development. Also setting up cost for each house will be reasonably high. Therefore our cost strategy is high cost. Also we are targeting our customer as especially households and working people which almost of people lives in house or works in workplaces, our competitive scope is broad market. The overall strategy is therefore Differentiation. 3.7 Value Chain Activity: Technology Development The most important value chain activity for this business is Technology development. We believe that technology development is most important value chain activity as we develop the program over and over using technology. To reduced potential accident because of uncontrollable electricity, this application should operate every day without any errors. While we operate this business, there might arise some problems with technical issue so technology development should be always carried on by professional technicians for generating our companys value. 3.8 Business Processes 3.8.1. ONLINE APPLI CATI ON SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS Our company will release our software development and new features which can fit each of the customer every 2-4 weeks. Based on customers opinion which customer reported in our website, our feature and software will upgrade for increasing customer satisfaction.
