1- Course Learning Objectives
A study of this course will enable the student to
* learn the theoretical principles and current state of the art of switchgear and
protection engineering.
* Study the Circuit interruption and protection.
* Study the Control systems of Circuit Breaker. Selection criteria. Testing.
* Study the Arc extinction
* Study the Recovery voltage
* Study the Air, oil, air blast, vacuum, SF6 and HVDC circuit breakers.
* Selection criteria. Testing.
* Study of Digital protection of power system.
* Study of Fuses.
* Study of protection against over voltages due to lightning.
