DRIVE TEST GUIDELINE I. PREPARATION 1. Hardware - Laptop (laptop, charger, connector, converter AC-DC.) - TEMS Kit (TEMS mobile, cables, dongle/license) - GPS. - Tool box : Compass (to check to azimuth), water ruler ( to check tilt), wrenches (size 32, size 19), adjustable wrenches, socket wrenches (size 19), hex-key wrench (to change electrical tilt of antenna 3G), knife, climbing belt, 2. Site information - Latest sitefull : site name, cell name, location (long/lat, address), antenna type, azimuth, tilt. - Site availability or latest Integrated- On air site information (get from NOC/O&M department) - Latest CDD (Cell Design Data) : RNC/BSC, cell/site name, LAC, CI, frequency, scrambling code. - Latest neighbor relationship (exported from CDD). - Export latest alarms from BSC/RNC/M2000 3. Route & CellFile information - Create route in MapInfo (see MapInfo guide) - Create CellFile (2G/3G, macro provided) to load in TEMS Investigation Tool. TEMS SETUP 1. Installation

- Double-Click TEMS_Investigation_9.1.exe

- Browse to folder youve just installed TEMS, then click Install. - Double-click cnet_Sony_ Ericsson_ PC_ Suite_6_011_00_Web_ENG_exe to install PC suite. - When you plug TEMS mobile to Laptop, browse to folder USB-DeviceDriver to update driver. - Open TEMS investigation 9.1 Data collection at Start/ Program/ Ericson.

We have 6 sheets : Overview, signaling, data, map, scanner, ctrl & config.

GSM DRIVE TEST A. Sheets 1. Overview sheet You should put these tables : GSM Radio Parameter GSM Current Channel GSM Line Chart GSM Serving + Neighbors Click Presentation/GSM/Radio Parameters

4. Map sheet You should put these tables : GSM Radio Parameter GSM Hopping Channel GSM Line Chart GSM Serving + Neighbors

CREATE GEOSET (In case of dump problem, you can re-open files with all data youve already set easily and quickly). I recommend you always create Geoset to backup pre-set data. 1. Click Geo-set manager :

2. Click cancel, if this is the first time you create it. If you have Geoset file already available, you browse the path click open to open it.
Click Add then browse to all file *.TAB you want. Ex : Road.TAB, sitefull.TAB, route.TAB,

B. Port Configuration Step 1. All Required devices are connected with Laptop as follows. TEMS Handset with TEMS data cable. GPS connect with GPS cable. Dongle (if any). Step 2. Select the COM ports. Open Ctrl & Config worksheet & select Properties from Equipment Configuration window to select COM ports according to next slide. Step 3. Identify the equipment or connect equipment as following :
C. Command sequence Configuration Command sequence is configured base on test case requirement. 1. Click Control/command sequence :

3. Double click Dial, then set up like picture (999 is called server) :
- Number of executions : you predict this base on the road length. - Interval : e.x 5 : after 5 second, it re-start the call, this number is up to you according the test case.

I recommend you should split large logfile into small ones for easy troubleshoot or save time if logfile errors and you have to come back old route to drive test again.
2. Connect devices (TEMS, USB Data, GPS) a. Click Connect (or F3) :
Note : In case of error connecting, you should connect device one by one or check again drivers/port configuration. 3. Set-up band, technologies Click hand button below :

E. Logfile Proccessing 1. Recording of Log Files Step 1. Click Start Recording icon to save log files. Step 2. Same icon are used for Stop Recording.
2. Open & Play Log Files Step 1. Select Logfile Menu then select open Logfiles Step 2. Open saved logfiles. Step 3. Play Logfile.

3. Export Log Files (for further processing, ref to DT Report Preperation Using TEMS & MAPINFO) Step 1. Select Logfile Menu then open Export Logfile Step 2. Click Add Order icon on Export Logfile window. Step 3. New Add Export Order window is opened. Step 4. Select MapInfo Tab-files in format Box. Step 5. Then Open Setup Box then select Available IEs GSM. Step 6. Select the required Parameters to export eg. RxLev, RxQual etc. Step 7. Select OK. Step 8. Click start icon to converts logfiles into MapInfo Tab-files format.
