318 Holy Hours were kept with our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration last week. "Let us be generous with our time in going to meet Him in Adoration." Attention High School Youth Group: Plan on meeting today, December 15 in Room 103 as we continue making blankets for the Elizabeth Ministry. Please bring fabric (1 yard each of two different fleece fabrics) and scissors if you have them. Friends are always welcome.

Anyone in need of physical, emotional and spiritual healing is invited to attend. If you know someone in need of this healing sacrament, please feel free to invite them to this special Mass. If you are able to help load and/or deliver Giving Tree gifts to Family Promise on December 19 or 20, please call the Rectory (745-0011). Your help will be appreciated! Due to the efforts of 20 Donors, the American Red Cross was able to make available 14 pints of blood for needed patient care. Those 14 successful pints will help 42 patients! A considerable amount of work goes into every blood drive and precious lives have been saved or sustained as a direct result of everyones dedicated support. On behalf of the patients whose lives you have touched, as well as their loved ones, we offer heartfelt gratitude. St. Augustine Rectory will be closed Tuesday & Wednesday, December 24 & 25 to spend time with our families this Christmas and will be closed Tuesday, December 31 and Wednesday, January 1 to celebrate the New Year!

The Solemnity of St. John the Evangelist is celebrated on Friday, December 27. You are invited to honor St. John as the Patron Saint of our Diocese, our Cathedral Parish, and the Cathedral Church itself. Bishop Lennon will celebrate the 12:00 noon Mass with the addition of special music. At 7:00pm Bishop Lennon will preside at Solemn Sung Vespers. All are welcome, especially the young and those preparing for initiation. Free secure parking is available. Come and celebrate this Feast of our Patron Saint in the beauty of the Christmas Season at St. John Cathedral. In order to aid our parishioners with year-end-tax planning, we will be mailing an annual summary to those who contributed $250 or more.
