We Have Band also known as WHB are a dance punk trio from Manchester and London. This treo consists of husband and wife duo Thomas Wegg-Prosser and Dede Wegg-Prosser. The band have now released two records (both thorough Naive Records) WHB and Ternion. The band have already been remixed by huge artists such as Bloc Party, Gorrilaz, Peter Bjorn and John and M83 as well as being included on the Kitsune Maison compilations a numerous amount of times. The band writes with guitars, bass, synthesizers, soft synthesizers, percussion, drum machines and drum samples. The video for the track Oh! is a 50/50 split between performance and concept. Although there are no instruments visible throughout the video does still involve its fair share of singing and dancing. The concept argument is strengthened thanks to the addition of colour. This colour (red, blue green) is added throughout the second half of the video. Firstly in the form of a air, secondly in the form of face paint and nally the background colour is changed. I believe the video does challenge conventions because it is a performance piece. Usually this type of band will create a 100% concept video or an animation. It is very unusual for an electronic/dance band to strip the video back to basic completely. This video does however also comply with conventions. Although sounding very obvious there is a lot of dancing involved. This is obviously a common factor to any dance punk video.
