Store epoxy joint materials in a cool place. containers. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.01 MATERIALS A. Expansion Joints:

Replace lids tightly on partially used

Joint filler shall be preformed non-extruding Bituminous filler type conforming to ASTM D1751 and shall be with thickness equivalent to joint width indicated and of suitable length , as far as practicable, so no longitudinal field cutting will be required. B. Joint sealant 1. General Compounds abutting each other are to be compatible. 2. Horizontal Joints Joints sealant for joints in horizontal or nearly horizontal surfaces conform to ASTM C 920, Type S or M, Grade P, Class 25. Use T (traffic sealant) in pedestrian and vehicular traffic areas, and use NT (non traffic) sealant in non-vehicular area. 3. Wall Joints Joint sealant for joints in walls conforms to ASTM C 920, Type S or M Grade NS, Class 25. 4. Bond breaker for joint sealant Polyethylene tape, coated paper, metal foil or similar type materials. 2.02 MIXING A. Joint Sealant: 1. 2. MANUFACTURER 1. 2. Joint Sealant: Hilti/Gurisil No. 260, or approved equal. Joint Primer: Hilti/Gurisil No. 435.5 or approved equal.

PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.01 CONSTRUCTION JOINTS A. General Locate and install construction joints, which are not shown on the drawings, so as not to impair strength and appearance of the structure, as acceptable to the Company Representative. 1. Form a key with a width of one-third the thickness of the thinner member and a depth of 40 mm unless otherwise shown (12mm for slabs-ongrade). Tape key to facilitate removal of form. Carry all reinforcement through the joint. Do not remove key or forms until concrete has cured. Clean key of laitance, curing compound foreign materials and protrusions of hardened concrete before casting abutting WORK.

2. 3. 4. 5. B. Forms

Use slightly tapered key groove forms to permit form removal without damage to groove after concrete is cured. C. Concrete Placement Consolidate concrete during placement in vicinity of key and key groove. Do not remove key to key groove forms until after concrete has cured. D. Concrete Cleaning and Protection Clean key or key groove of curing compound, foreign materials, protrusions of hardened concrete and blow out debris and dust with oil free compressed air, protect exposed key and key groove from damage. EXPANSION JOINTS A. Provide expansion joint in slabs on grad at all points of contact between slabs on grade and vertical surfaces, such as column pedestals, foundation walls, grade beams and elsewhere as indicated.

3.04

PRE-MOLDED JOINTS FILLER A. General Treat cut surface as recommended by manufacturer, when filler strips are cut. B. Placement 1. 2. Place filler against the bulkhead form and fasten to the inside of the form with non-corrodible fasteners. Prevent disturbance of or damage to joint filler.

3.

Fill expansion joint completely. C. Wood Strips and Placement 1. Secure wood strips to surfaces, which are to receive joint compound. 2. Use slightly tapered wood strips of the same width as the expansion joint and of the depth necessary to install the joint compound. 3. Use materials to secure joint filler and wood strips, which will not harm concrete or affect the joint compound bond to concrete. 4. Do not remove wood strips until after the concrete curing period. D. Cleaning and Protection Clean groove of curing compound, foreign materials, protrusions of hardened concrete, blow out dust with oil-free compressed air. 3.05 JOINT SEALANT A. General Clean and dry concrete to be sealed in accordance with manufacurers printed instruction.
