AstudentwrotetoYahooAnswerstoaskadviceonSTAARwritingtest. Student:I am in the 9th grade ,and on Monday, I take a STAAR test. The STAAR test used to be named the TAKS test, but all both are just an end of course exam. The difference in the TAKS and the STAAR test though is that the TAKS was not timed ,and it was easier and not graded as harshly. The STAAR test is graded rigorously and must be completed in 4 hours. Im not used to that kind of pressure because this is my first year taking the STAAR, in fact only 9th grade and below have to take the STAAR, everyone in 10th grade and up get to still take TAKS .Anyways, there will be two parts of the writing test both on separate days. One is reading ,and one is writing. Im more worried about the writing because we must write 2 expository essays 1 short story and wither another expository or short story. So we must write 4 papers in 4 hours, and trust me it will be graded rigorously. I havent been the best prepared because my teacher just grades our papers and hands them back. I am making 2's which are just the standard passing rate. We've practiced some but not alot and the prompts are difficult to write back too. I just am very stressed on how to be done in time and makes good grades. How do i manage my time and stress? What is some writing advice for me? my teacher just grades our papers so i dont know what im doing right and wrong. Im very scared that i wont be done in time or pass for that matter.
